I mean, I know it's a gold bar but I'm not sure what the numbers and symbols mean. We found it in a safe we inherited from my great uncle.

I tried taking it to the Deutsche Bank building here in LA, but they wouldn't quote me a price and were being really rude to me.

Anyone have any idea how much this thing is worth today?

If you're serious OP, 1kg is approximately 35oz. Gold is $1200 today per pz, putting that at about $42,000 dollars. Of course you aren't going to get that price if you sell it to a Goldsmith, Pawn shop, etc, so maybe in the ~$35,000 range is the value you could take home.

But then if that's a legit ingot, you will probably be able to raise the price due to the historical value of it.

I am thinking it won't be worth much because nobody buys gold at market price but due to the historical value it could go up.

Only negative I see, since this has the Nazi stamp on it, this gold could be confiscated and donated to families from the Holocaust. I have seen this done before.
