Both these teams look awful. Blown out at home on opening night. Which is worse?

C-mon, Lakers started the season with two major injuries from Nash and Randle already...

I don't know. Lakers whole team philosophy of no 3s and a crap load of mid-range jumpers is idiotic for the modern NBA.

Lakers. At least Carmelo is in his prime and should be chucking.

How is a bloated salary with only 47 wins in the east any better than 25 wins for a shot at a top 3 pick

Knicks by FAR

Knicks are the worst team in the league.

Carmello Anthony is the spiritual successor to Tracy Mcgrady

Because Knicks actually have money to go out and improve through free agency next year, Lakers don't. Lakers star is 36, and in his twilight. Knicks star is 30 and in the tail end of his prime.

A complete rebuild takes years, the Knicks can be contenders next year if Phil pushes the right buttons in free agency.

hmm interesting debate on the injured players, 2 on 2 pickup game if they were healthy..

Nash/Randle vs Cald/barg

Lakers better if you're blind. Besides Lakers played against some really tough teams in the West.

Point differential tells the story quite clearly, Lakers gettin blown out on the reg, Knicks losing by a just a few points every game. If the Knicks fta equaled their opponents they are a .500 team at least. Tonight's game against Cle showed the ref bias against them. And that ish been happening every game.

Lakers are worse.

However, switch Kobe with Melo and the Lakers would be better

Lakers are better because of Kobe.

4-1 against the east.

Knicks have better overall talent, but Lakers have the best player in the game.

Right now, Knicks are worse but they can easily turn things around just because they play in the Leastern Conference.

If Nash and Randle were healthy for LA, I feel like the Knicks would've been the worse team. But without them, the Lakers are the worse team.

Lakers are better, I wish it was the other way around though because the Knicks may ended up with the worst record and the better pick.

redhonda76

Knicks are worst. They are in the Eastern conference, have better players still worst than the Lakers record-wise.

Idk how its possible for the knicks to be worse than they were last year and Amare is our best player. :facepalm Melo needs to show up if hes getting paid that much money.

Legends66NBA7

Point differential isn't accurate without Strength of Schedule. Combine them and you get Simple Rating System (SRS).

SRS (Zero is the average)

Lakers: -4.51 (24th)
Knicks: -7.26 (27th)

Both are terrible, but the Lakers have some how managed to squeeze out a better record.
