He's held back EVERYONE he's ever played with.

Big time bro. For all we know, it could have been Norris with his name stamped on two Finals MVP trophy's. Selfish balding prick that James was.

No, not lebron specifically.

Cole was was a ball dominant do-everything guard at Cleveland state. He rarely got the opportunity to do his thing with the way the heat were constructed.

When you play with Lebron, you will touch the ball less.

It's because he's better than you.

You play with Kobe...you'll touch the ball less. Same with pretty much every star. Even guys like CP3 and Wall (who get their teammates plenty of shots) are still going to handle the ball a TON.

Welcome to basketball...

what a stupid question. First of all Cole wasn't the player he is now when he came to the league. Secondly and more important he's the starting PG now which obviously has given him a boost. A lot of people (me included) thought he played better than Chalmers in the past but Spolstra kept playing Chalmers as starting PG.

Doubtful, I like the choice to start Norris ahead of rio, but really does make me question why they brought him back.

He's better suited to the 2, and we needed some one to play when Wade is resting who knows the system. Chalmers, although he has many faults is an above average wing defender and a decent 3 point shooter. Seems to make sense.

He could prob average 18 on the Sixers but who gives a shit. ISH seems to think that superstars are holding back their roleplayers because roleplayers suddenly get the ball more and get more shots when they leave.

He's not a good player. High usage on a bad team

Although cole is undersized in some matchups, I'd take him for defensive purposes over Chalmers. Plus his 3 pointer has been improving since his rookie year.
I get rationale behind choosing rio though, especially as he can really perform every now and then.

He looked good last night. You can also tell Wade prefers playing with him over Chalmers.

It's not about holding them back, it's about being a stat hog. He hogs everyone else's stats and basically costs them money. It was a surprise when the Heat paid Bosh that kind of money because Bosh was made a role player for the last 3 years. To maximize one guy's stats, because we know what happened when someone else did well (2011 Finals), he threw the series.

with the biggest non-pg ball-dominator in the league gone, everyone gets more touches.

it's not like lebron is an off-ball player where cole's touches wouldn't increase that much in his absence.

so sure... cole's touches go up significantly in the absence of a massive ball-dominator.
