I just switched to Midnight to 8am and this shit is rough. I gotta work 12 hours tonight so I will get off at noon.
If so how long it take you to get used to the time difference?

I just switched to Graveyard about 6 weeks ago. I don't know what your job is but if you are not moving lord help your soul, the transition will take longer. Because I have a lot of movement in my occupation its not as rough hanging on during those hours but the rest of my day is kind of topsy turvey.
My day offs is difficult because you try to function on normal hours but when its time to go back to those hours makes it confusing.

Most people never get used to it. The human body is just made to nr awake in the day and asleep at night. I've never had to work that shift, but all the people I know that have...didn't seem to be very happy people on that shift. It's not good to live this way for your mental faculties.

I been doing it for a week now cause my babysitter just got a job. My son is 18 months so its hard to sleep during the day.
I do security so I'm not moving at all except for walking a round every 2 hours or so. I've been drinking like 2 pots of coffee every night since I've started this shift.
Shits rough man. :(

Been doing security in some form or another my entire adult life.
Cool. I've been doing it for like 5+ years now. This job has definitely made me fat(not really fat but out of shape) and lazy.
I've been trying to find something in a different field but no luck yet.
Security field is pretty easy for the most part. No hard work/labor but where I work we work holidays so that's like the worst part about it.

I do a few night shifts a week. From 7pm to 7am. I've not gotten used to it and I feel like I'm living with constant jet lag.

I often work nights for 2 weeks at a time, 5pm-5am. For me it only takes one full night of work followed by sleeping all day to adjust, but the adjustment back is frequently difficult and has taken up to 4 days afterwards.
It's such a shitty feeling to work all night, stay up all day to try to switch back, fall asleep at 9pm, and wake up at 2am unable to sleep again until 6-7am.

I used to work 11:30pm-7:30am, took one shift to adjust and a few days to adjust back to normal days when you were done.

I did that for one week when i was 17 as a janitor in a Kmart. For minimum wage. Cleaning the whole floor, burnishing it every other day and also cleaning 6 bathrooms. That job taught me what my work is worth, as there's no way i should have only been getting paid 6 bucks an hour. Being a kid with no bills made the decision easier of course.

I worked in radio about 5 years ago, and did overnight weekends. It was brutal for me to readjust to my regular day job during the week, and even when I got home on Saturday/Sunday mornings after work, I was lucky to sleep 3-4 hours. I simply couldn't sleep during the day.

I never did it for work, but my sleep schedule was so ****ed up in college.
For a year I slept from 2pm-9pm. Shit sucked when friends or family would call/text.

You will never get use to it. You can only learn to deal with it. I worked graveyard for about 7-8 years.
You should look up Melatonin. That can help you change your sleep cycle and make your mind think morning time is the hour for sleep. Also, you should black out whatever room you sleep in with dark shades.

Been working a 24/7 shift work job for about 7 years now. Switching between day and afternoon shifts isn't that bad, but it's the week of night shifts that always wrecks you. I get a week off every month though because of it, so that's the main reason I stay at the job.
