So I've been playing a game with a friend picking a letter of the alphabet and naming movies that either start with that letter or have a significant word in the title start with that letter.

We decide to pick the letter S. We're going around naming a couple movies, when it comes to me I say Any Given Sunday. Now my friend says it doesn't count because Sunday has no significance to the title of the movie.

I argue that Sunday is the most important part of the title.

We've been arguing over it for a while and want to know what ISH thinks.

Should the movie Any Given Sunday count for the letter S?

Sunday is the noun therefore it is the object of the sentence around which everything else is constructed... so yea you are right.

I would say you're right in that it Sunday is the most important part of the title, but for the purposes of your game, I would agree with him that it shouldn't count. It should be strictly the first word, unless the word is an article, like The. The Stand should count for S.

I have a friend who plays a game where you start with movie, the next person has to name an actor from it, the next another movie with that actor, the next a different actor from that movie, and so on and so forth. It's a good bar game.
