Time for a new one. Hopefully no major injuries this year, he'll finish seventh

8th Now

If Dirk averages 15ppg in 70 games he'll add around 1000p. Another healthy season and he'll end up sixth.

Go Dirk

He'll end up at least 7th this year passing Hakeem, Hayes and Moses. If he has another healthy year next year, he'll probably end around #6, passing Shaq. I don't think he'll get up to 31k and pass Wilt though unless he is still dropping 15PPG in his late 30s/early 40s (which could actually happen).

Props to Dirk Diggler

on a sidenote, it's amazing how great these top scorers like Shaq, Moses, Duncan, etc, were on 2-pt FG's alone. I wonder if any current non 3 point shooting big men will reach these heights also. Griffin maybe? Cousins? idk

Highly skilled and highly consistent, paying off for the big fella.

Big men have more longevity though what makes up for not shooting 3s.

No way. They would need a ton of longevity. You also got to have very few seasons where you score under 1600 points. Blake's two years of underachieving will cost him. And players have more trouble staying healthy now while not a problem with Blake, and he does have Karl Malone's build, but he doesn't seem consistent.

Embiid, if his back is good, will be the one to do it. He's skilled, points come easy, he's smart, and economical in movement. The Unibrow is very young so he has a chance.

Call me crazy but I think Dirk's jumpshot is at an all time high right now.

Much faster.

He's averaging 21 on 58% from the field and 43% from three in less than 29 minutes per game. Those numbers are stellar.

You are not crazy, it is faster (http://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2014/11/3/7138219/dirk-nowitzki-quicker-shot-release-dallas-mavericks). Nice gif comparisons there.

This. I was just thinking "does this dude release this quick in the past"?

dirk said in a german interview that he wants to shoot faster, cause he cant jump so high anymore if the defender is right in front of him, cause his knees and legs are hurting.
saying this, he also said that posting up/isolation is getting more and more exhausting for him at his age.

dirk is trying to adjust his game to his age.:applause: :applause:

I love dirk, but all time stats are not as impressive as single season records and avgs.

Big men have more longevity though what makes up for not shooting 3s.they also operate much closer to the basket and shoot higher percentage shots due to position alone... This helps a ton when your career is long and it's spent shooting within 10 feet of the rim

Dirk's obviously a not a true big man, I've always thought of him more as a small forward by shot selction

Dirk Nowitzki now No. 9 on all-time scoring list. He has 1,487 career 3PM. All other 7-footers among top-50 scorers combined for 71 3PM.
