As a 100% unbiased fan I must say that although Kobe has put up some decent numbers in the 2 blowout Lakers losses - He looks done. He looks like Wizards MJ. No ability to get to the rim - everything is a perimeter jumper.

As another unbiased fan of basketball I must agree with you. The uneducated fans will be fooled into thinking he had a great game against the Suns the other night, but we know the truth. The Lakers were -26 with Kobe on the floor because he played no defense whatsoever. :facepalm
Then he starts stad padding after his team falls behind by 20 points and the Suns were basically letting him score in order to keep his teammates uninvolved. 31 points through 3 quarters, and not a single one of them had ANY impact whatsoever. :sleeping

He is still a good player. And he was done being a superstar in 2011.

Kobe has been "done" for a while.

Even in 2012, when he was putting up good stats, it still felt like he was no where near good enough to win a title as the first option.

That's just the way it goes, and we're already starting to see it with LeBron.

That's why a guy like KD is the only legit threat to MJ because we know he's gonna be able to score 30 a night till he's 40-45 years old, and is going to absolutely shatter the scoring record

People don't know that KD is going to be at this level or better for the next 15 years.

Didn't he score more than twice as many points as Bran in his opening game of the season?

I would take this version of Kobe over Lebron of right now. Lebron has no impact on his team right now nor did he have an impact much of last year. He is on the decline where Kobe doesn't look like it all.

We are pretty much witnessing this version of Kobe like we did in the past. Kobe's all around game makes him still look like one of the best in the league due to that silky jumper of his that he can get off anytime he wants.

He is like a quarterback in the NFL and just dissecting defenses in the perimeter something that Lebron can never do. Just look how awful he has been on opening night.

Is Kobe the GOAT? Serious question.

If 36 year old Kobe coming off an achilles rupture and a knee fracture putting up 25 ppg on 40% shooting is him being "done" and peak Lebron putting up 17 ppg on 33% shooting with 8 turnovers a game is him being the best in the world, I see no other logical conclusion than Kobe = GOAT.

wow... lebron is a turnover machine. averaging 8 turnovers a game in a season that contains 82 game. Wow, how inefficient, averaging 17 points on 33% FG in a season. This guy sucks!

I no longer wonder if the Lakers will win a game. They won't. I only watch Lakers games now (not like TV programmers give me a choice) to see who Kobe will get into altercations with next. Hopefully tonight when the Clippers are up by 45 points in the 3rd quarter, Bean will call Paul a ringless midget and CP3 will respond in kind by giving him an old fashioned Chris Childs 2 piece and a biscuit special.

That would make seeing the terrible Lakers on my TV screen for the millionth time already this season worthwhile :applause:

He's looked a lot better than I expected TBH. He's still drawing a ton of fouls, getting to the rim at a decent clip, and his passing has been very good. His midrange jumper has been off however. It doesn't help that the Lakers spacing has been total shit.

Last night had more to do with Kobe not getting enough shots... And it shouldn't have come down to him having to shoot contested shots to get us back in the game...

Our bigs were in foul trouble all night and couldn't stop Blake, Lin was getting hammered with no calls, Jamal Crawford got so many bullshit calls and hit some tough 3s... it is what it is

Kobe got what, 8 shots in the first half and 0 in the 3rd? The team offense was working for us and it stalled in the 4th.

This Warriors game is going to be a massacre if we play zone against them. Curry and Klay gonna hit 5+ threes apiece.

Absolutely! Those 7 shots in the 4th quarter were not enough. He should have had 15 shots! Maybe instead of 1/7, he could have gone 2/15. That would have helped the Lakers win:applause:

Not talking about the 4th you idiot. He should have gotten shots in the 3rd to set him up for the 4th quarter. Not taking shots for basically 20 minutes and then getting subbed in to hit tough shots in the 4th was asking a little too much. And Kobe didn't just chuck up random shots in the 4th to try to tie the game like he usually did, Scott drew the plays up for him out of timeouts and they didn't pay off.

Point is that Kobe was taken out of the offense a little too much. Boozer and Johnson had a combined 17 shots and shot 5-17 on them... There's no reason for Wes to get that many catch-and-shoot mid-range jumpers, why weren't any of them drawn for Kobe instead? This goes back to coaching.

Ofcourse! Kobe's poor shot selection is a coaching issue. It's not down to him!:applause:

From #16 to #15

Still a lot of work before he can take #14 from Jerry West

Kobe is neck and neck with Magic on the all-time list as the best Lakers players ever. So wherever Magic is on your list, Kobe is nearby.

Only needs 49 more missed FGA to take over the record.

Now, obviously there are far less talented players but most of them - like Robert Sacre - are content making vet min and cheer leading from the bench for the entire game.

Considering that with Kobe:

1) You have to pay him 25 million,
2) You have to make him a feature part of your offense

Is he the worst player in the league?
