Tearing your achilles adds 5 years. Knee injury adds 1 year. 19th season in adds another 5 years. Kobe is actually 47 years old

Kobe = 47

therefore he was 33 in 2000

So he married a 17 year old HS chick at the age of 33?? :eek: :no:

I guess this dude never learned on .5 and above you round up, unless you truly believe someone can average 1/2 a point per game

stupid.

doesn't really matter how many SEASONS you played lol. Age is a much much more important variable when it comes to your performance cause it's the single thing that causes ur body to break down.

36 year old jordan = best player in the league still, won a championship.

kobe = slower, can't jump high, can't inspire teammates, poor leadership and stat padding all the way to the lottery.

40 plus? MJ was 39 for the majority of his last season.. You know this right?

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01/gamelog/2003/

He was 39 years and 8.5 months old to start his final season, and ended it at 40 years and 2 months old. So your statement is a bit misleading - to say someone is "39" glosses over the fact that a guy who JUST turned 39 is different from one who is closer to 40.

What's so funny? It's VERY early (I expect Kobe to get better, not worse), but Wizards Jordan was averaging 25/6+/5/43% FG through 40 games at age 39 in a tougher defensive league than today. He was certainly better than what Kobe has shown SO FAR. Kobe is averaging 24/4/4/40%.
