He's on the cusp of elite. He's pretty much shown that he is a willing passer and can run an offense and get to the rim at will.

Two issues are shaky midrange game and shaky defense.

He's on his way, best thing to happen to him was going to the Mavs.

I think monta is one of the most underrated players in the league. He is an elite slasher, a good passer and a decent shooter, altho can get extremely hot. He isnt a good defender but he does manage to get steals and almost leads the league on charges taken

Is he an elite guard like a russell westbrook? No. But hes an all star level guard an a top 5 sg, top 50 player.

I do think the mavs are contenders and a underdog to win it. But i still think thunder and spurs are a level higher

Nope. To me, there's only 2 ELITE players in the NBA. LeBron James & Kevin Durant. The rest of the top players are either superstars or stars. Monta is in my "star" category.

This is the sad truth. The NBA is at its worst right now in a long time.

No.

Elite players don't get held down like he did in the playoffs last year while the other team is gifting you wide open shots for over half the series.

He's a very good player and definitely better than people have ever given him credit for, but he's not elite.

He's really good though and is proving under the right system, coach, and leadership that he can play winning ball.

Not surprised though...seems like everyone but Odom that comes into Dallas turns it around.
