I got my first smartphone Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2012 and it was on sale for like $50. I only got it because my old flip phone kept dying even after new batteries. Gonna try to max its life out until 2020. LOL

Yup. I got a smartphone in Dec 2013. My old phone was acting up and I got tired of it.
I don't even use my phone for anything that I didn't use my old phone for, so I can understand why some people wouldn't care to upgrade. If you're not using the phone for apps or even the internet, it seems pointless to upgrade.
