If you guys want I could add a second column of "almost" 50 point triple doubles, with like a 1 shot attempt (3 points) or 1 rebound/assist/block/steal disparity.

That would be cool, I'm sure the list would be much bigger too.

Supposedly 26 blocks against the Detroit Pistons though I don't know the exact date of the game. I've seen another game via newspaper article at the end of the 1962 season where he allegedly blocked 20 shots, against Chicago I think. So there's at least those 3 games I'm aware of where he's cited with over 20 blocks, highest being 26.

All of those happened in the 60's except for Kareem, which is why I don't take it seriously since competition was so much easier back then. There's a reason no one has done it in almost 40 years.

If the competition is so much easier why are a variety of players statistically dominant - aren't they themselves the competition?

Dat footproof logic.

Not really, you can be ignorant and say that though.
The 60's had some great players, great competition...

The (main) reason is that games were played at a MUCH faster tempo, at a considerably higher pace.

Here's some players that got near a 50-points triple double:

Actually funny that LeBron didn't get it though... He was pretty self-concious about it, trying to do everything he could to get it, even including "robbing" rebounds from teammates.

You got various players today that have inflated stats at home though, league should review and take away...

Pretty sure that's a 53-4-10 game.

I think I can provide a list of all the cases I've found when someone came 1-2 pts, rebs, etc away from a 50 point TD.

If you can provide that list I'll definitely include those in the format I setup in the OP, and put them in a separate category below the actual 50 point triple doubles.

Players that came 1 play short (Either 3 points (1 scoring possession), or 1 of any of the other advanced stats).

Here is some more info:

Baylor went 18-41 from the field in his 52 pt triple.

Baylor was 16-27 from the field in his 50 pt triple.

Chamberlain was 20-38 from the field in his 51 point triple.

Interesting too, about Guerin's triple. In that same game, Chamberlain scored 67 points, on 25-38 shooting from the field and 17-22 from the line, with 21 rebounds.

Wilt had FOUR games of 60+ points against 6-11 HOFer Walt Bellamy, including a 73-36 game.

And a 35 year old Chamberlain hung a 32-31 game on 6-11 HOFer Bob Lanier.

Of course, Wilt had TONS of 50+ point games against SEVEN-FOOTERS in the 60's. Not to mention the fact that he faced MANY 6-11 players in his career...most all of whom would measure 7-0+ using today's methods.

BTW, Chamberlain also had FIVE 50+ point games against Bill Russell, who was every bit as tall and athletic as Dwight Howard (both were/are a shade under 6-10.)

Do you have Wilt's career high blocks ? It can be unofficial it doesn't matter.

NBAstats.net has credited Chamberlain with FOUR estimated games of 30+, with a high of 32.

Harvey Pollack, as great a statistician as he was, actually lost count of Wilt's blocks in game in the early 60's, in which he had recorded 25.

In a nationally televised game on 1/20/62, Wilt recorded a possible 28 blocks (again, estimated.)

We do KNOW that in a nationally televised game on Christmas day in 1968, Chamberlain had a RECORDED 23 blocks (15 in the first half alone.) This was confirmed by Sports Illustrated.
