Thing is, people in the comment section getting all upset... "She was scared to death, why would you do that to your cat" etc just paraphrasing..

What do you think? I don't know much about this so I don't want to come off ignorant, but I think this is pretty harmless... Cats are often confrontated with these situations in nature.

Oh, and of course this:

no.

animals confronted in neutral ground have opportunity to fight or flee. most of the time they flee. animals trapped or confronted in their home territory are forced towards fighting.

if you'd find it stressful having some monstrous-looking, huge dude show up in your house and start stalking you, then that's a pretty good clue for you that small animals would be stressed, too.

those ppl are b-tches.

Okay.. But it's not quite comparable to humans imo.

Animals have that natural instinct..

But your post def swayed my opinion a bit.

well, animals can lose their 'natural instinct' the same way that we can.

if you plucked a modern human from a few thousand years ago you'd find them highly tuned to their surroundings, full of such 'instinctive' behaviors like the cat's.

at the same time, if you go over to some peoples' houses and look at their overfed, lazy pets, you'd see animals that notice little around them except for when their owners get home to give them attention or fill their food bowls.

point is, the difference between us is a lot less than people think.
