lmao i think parsons is a great player but he aint making no allstar games....he can average 20-5-5 all he want to....wing spots locked up in the west...and to be fair i think just about any above average player in the nba could put up great stats playing alongside monta and dirk...do u know how much space is on the floor for parsons????
i still give him credit but lets not act like its chandler parsons team....dude got blessed with a way better team than he has ever had in houston.

He didn't shoot well in the first game, other than that he's worth the money so far.
He's definitely an above average defender but box-score watching haters obviously believe otherwise 'cause he's white:facepalm

Ariza played in a crap conference last year and anything you do even moderately well is magnified.
The Rockets have feasted on cream puffs early on, but they will be exposed soon enough.
Parsons is better than Ariza and that's the cold hard fact.

Parsons is a better player than Ariza but defensively it's not even close. I would rather have Ariza with his contract than Parsons but he is still a stud. He's not a star though but he should have great season on the Mavs.

Last year's stat
Parsons:
Defensive WS: 2.5 (0.2 Offensive WS)
Defensive Rating: 108
Ariza:
Defensive WS: 3.7 (4.3 Offensive WS)
Defensive Rating: 104
Ariza also had a higher BLK, STL and REB rate.
Parsons is a good player. I'll probably take him over Ariza due to his youth, but he is not worth double the money.

Ariza played defense against the east incompetency for a majority of the year.
Parsons played defense against the powerhouse west where their bottom feeders would be high seeds in the east.

Can we wait until Houston plays an actual NBA-level team before we act like they replaced Parsons with prime Pippen with Mullin's jumper?
We know what Ariza is. 12-15 ppg good defense and 3 point shooting.
Parsons is the one who will need time before we judge him.

When you argue Parsons is better than Ariza on the defensive end, you should just stop while you're behind.
Parsons:
18.8 ppg
4.5 rpg
2.0 apg
Ariza:
17.3 ppg
5.5 rpg
2.8 apg
57% FROM 3
Oh, and Ariza didnt let Jeff Green drop 35 on him tonight, so there's a plus.

Ariza has been a 12-15 ppg player literally twice in his 10 year career, not including this season. And considering his history with contract years and the year after, it's far from a guarantee that he'll maintain what he's doing now.
Whereas Parsons was already a 17 ppg player last year...and he's a 25 year old up and coming player, now playing in an elite offensive system for a brilliant coach for the first time in his career. This won't be close by the end of the year.
But I agree, let's wait.

Dallas should start off on a roll, given the schedule they have.
They should be able to go 7-2 in their next 9 to get a nice jump on the season. Its looking like they'll only play six teams this month that will finish the season with a winning record.

Yes, yes it was.
And then, after Batum took him to the woodshed, it got so bad that McHale had to put HARDEN of all people on Batum.
Wesley Matthews then went on to torch him that night.
I still blame Lin though.

Of ****ing course you wouldn't blame Harden, who shot sub-40%, missed a game winner, called the switch that led to Lillard's dagger 3, played zero defense, was nonexistent as a leader, all around worthless as a "franchise player".
Yeah blame the entire series on a role player and Parsons for not being prime Artest on defense.
Might as well blame Dwight for not averaging 40/20.

Parsons was so bad McHale had to put Harden on his man. Think about that for a second. Harden...
Harden did play like ass, and that last switch was his fault, but Houston was beaten by Lillard and Aldridge. Harden had nothing to do with either of them.
Don't get me wrong, I blame them all, minus Dwight who played like the star that he is, but Lin's costly turnovers (remember when he tried to dribble away after specifically being instructed to call timeout, and then turned the ball over), his bad decision making (remember when he got his lay up tossed when all Houston had to do was dribble the clock out) was the biggest problem. Lin shot 41% and Lillard dropped career nights on him, so lets not pretend like he was awesome.
Lin (who played like the scrub he is)
Jones (who didnt play much, because he couldnt play much, because he couldnt defend)
Harden/Parsons (both played like doo doo)
Those were the biggest losers of that series, in that order.

Yes, he's exactly who we thought he is. A very talented 3rd option on a playoff team gearing to make noise all year long. Perhaps he even eventually blossoms into a 2b, which is perfectly fine and viable. Let the hate fizzle and just call it what it is...

Parsons - 19.3ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.3apg, 44%, 36%, 73%.
