True.

And can't forget mentality as well.

When someone truly feels they are in control of their destiny, that's when things start to come together.. that's when the planets align.

Unfortunately, you'll never have this in a toxic environment like the projects. You literally gotta HAVE PEOPLE see to believe, adn that ain't happening any time soon when the people that show you opportunity (the liberals) think you are some precious fragile child to be held hand in hand to walk you through life's grandeurs OR when the other opposition is flat out fukking hostile.

Women suffer from this too. They just need something real, tangible, to work at and see the progress as they walk forth, ya know?

A lot of thugs shame and actively attack the intellectually oriented... I mean "Urkels poindexter" nerds and polite civil guys... i mean "f*ckboyz" in your community. They forget that raw sexual energy can be channeled, with discipline, into creating great things.. Thats why 1950s White America told people to get manufacturing jobs and POUR ine nergy into creation before you could acquire enough $$$ to get you a nice hunny, the picket fence etc.

Black guys are told in order to get the nookie you have to walk around like a neanderthal and unfortunately men will always be motivated by reproduction. PUt two and two together and bam.

A lot of people are fed lies from birth about what is or what is not possible.
Hollywood brainwashes people into thinking black guys only have to say the big elephat tin the room (see Not Another Teen Movie) when you guys are loaded with solid witty people who can just use plain ol' social observations or worldplay to evoke laughter (see Aesop Rock or Eddie Murphy among others)

And you especially can't forget that most black communities are matriarchal and anything led by a woman will never reach the order or potential as that of a man. Fatherhood ain't even looked up as an option let alone highly upon.. and Bill Cosby sure as fukk doesn't cut it when it comes to becoming a strong decisive leader of your household.

Your glory started with guys like Shaka Zulu and Mansa Musa among others.
Kings able to lead their people to glory with enormous wealth and warrior discipline.

Diet is huge too as you mentioned. Back in Somalia, Kenya, Mali; you've got palm kernel oil, fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. OVer here .. ugh.. deprived nutirtion is terrible man. Apologies on that. To maximize your Brainpower and stay cool calm collected yo ugotta have the proper ingredeitns of a lifestyle read FOod and Mood.

Hip hop ain't the problem persay. It's a medium, like religion, or guns. A tool that can be used for good and evil.

The problem is illiterate f*cking *******s like that clown Mann and Soulja Boy and Oj Da Juice and Waka Flocka and Yung Joc . They pull the same exact shennanigans as the people online who tell you "U too can be a millionaire by buying my special e-book". Just a fukked up collective concsious of style over substance.

But then you've got authentic nikkas everywhere picking up the slack from the scoundrels and like they say the diamons in the rough can shine on. I remember watchin David Banner's Cadillac on 22's video with him resurrectin people or fukk even Jeezy's Put On and feeling my soul enervated.

THe revolution will come though. Hopsin and like minds will ensure this.

giving someone something for nothing seems charitable and kind initially but it's the worst shit you can do to a person in the long run ..

I should add though, that welfare can be helpful but it should definitely have a timetable on it for obvious reasons .. indefnite help is what I'm referring to

I agree, though i would not limit this to welfare but rather technocratic paternalism, which includes welfare but captures the attitude better and includes more negative influencing factors (like levelling and making uniform a state education system that fails to properly educate anyone). When the state subsumes most of the responsibilities of the individual then there remains no need for the individual to remain responsible. It's as simple as that. Blacks are particularly susceptible because of the relative absence of the major counteracting force to this (a strong family household that inculcates a sense of duty and responsibility in their children themselves).

Sort of a consequence of the following and the type of people who tend towards these kind of occupations (from Kingsley Amis story):

‘One of the many all-important tasks of our society was the training of specialists for functions which at one time had been discharged as by-products of other functions. A case very much in point here was provided by the constantly expanding duties of – well, Mair recognized the term social workers, but for her own part she preferred (having once attended a Social Science Summer School in Cardiff) to think of herself and her associates as technicians in paternalism.’

Its the consequence of the soulless and unfeeling bureaucratic superstructure we have created that presses down the individual into a kind of mindless and pointlessly hedonistic form of utilitarianism, or at least, directs the individual towards it, leads him by the hand. Quite Huxleyish really.

Serious opinions (no offense to anyone):
Almost all of these factors are interrelated (eg. racism leads to less employment, leads to more crime, leads to more racism, etc)

- Racism- Many negative stereotypes about black people are still held by some and it hurts black people primarily by hurting their employment prospects. These negative stereotypes include: being quick to anger, are violent, will steal things, are lazy, etc.

- poverty - despite the hype, it has never been easy to climb the economic ladder in america. If you were born rich, and are not incredibly stupid and/or have incredibly bad luck, you will die rich. If you are born poor, unless you have incredible luck or are incredibly talented, you will die poor.

Half the advantage of being rich, is the people you meet. Eg. say you are rich and go to private school, your friends are probably rich. later you decide to get a job in a field, and it just so happens your friend's dad is well connected/established in that field, thus you gain a valuable recommendation and connection.

Most jobs are never advertised. my bosses have always asked me if I knew someone who would be appropriate for an opening we have.

There are numerous other advantages to being rich and why poverty is self perpetuating, a whole post can be made on the topic.

- Bad/poor communities - often have crime (caused by the lack of economic opportunity and poverty), and thus they force everyone who can leave to leave. This destroys the tax base of an area and the property values of that area. low property tax revenues result in bad schools (poorly funded), poor infrastructure, poor policing, etc. Its a problem that perpetuates itself.

- prison industrial complex - private prisons make money off of incarcerating people. Thus an incentive exists to lobby government to write harsh laws and longer sentences. The poor are the least equip to challenge these laws. Once convicted you will probably be poor forever (I would never rent to someone with a criminal conviction nor would I employ a convict, many people feel this way), and that's if your lucky and didnt fall into the criminal lifestyle and probably be in and out of jail for the rest of your life.

- the drug war- related to the prison industrial complex, people are being sent to prison for non-violent crimes (something i am totally against)

- Black culture- (I could be wrong on this one) as many black people have said (charles barkley, random black youtubers, etc) black culture can sometimes hold back black people. From what i have heard, kids who do well in school are bullied/ostracized, etc.

rap music, hip hop, etc tend to glorify violence and toughness. I dont think there are many rap songs glorifying doing well in school, etc.

Also there is a tendency to place blame on outside factors, eg whites, this might or might not be accurate, but is definitely not productive.

^^^(Everything in that post)^^^

Great post. I couldn't agree more nor could I have put it better myself.
I want to also add weed in there.
Marijuana use tends to make people lazy. Now imagine someone who isn't even motivated to begin with. They become accepting of their lot in life. This doesn't just apply to blacks. I stopped smoking weed because I felt like it was just holding me back.
It is a fun plant, but it does nothing productive for anyone, except those who are very sick (e.g. cancer patients) or the people selling it (profit, $$$).
Edit: I'm not saying everyone should quit smoking weed nor do I believe I'm better than anyone just because I no longer smoke it myself.

Complete and utter bullshit. The US has a long history of unprecedented and remarkable social mobility, starting with its founders (only 8 of 99 signers having had fathers who had been to college), and persisted up until a half century or so ago as Federal government expansion led to a gradual ossification. Reform came from increased prosperity, not poverty. For example, the first modern reforms came under Teddy Roosevelt as the result of a remarkable growth in the middle class during the period 1870-1910 (middle class population increased 8 fold whereas total population increased only two and a third times - data from Richard Hofstadter's Age of Reform). This data shows remarkable social mobility in a period when the Federal government barely even existed in contrast to today.

You seem to be harbouring the illusion that masses of people were poor and impoverished during this period, and this simply isn't true. I'll quote 'intellectual leader' of the Progressive movement Walter Weyl writing around 1910:

"By setting the pace for a frantic competitive consumption, our infinite gradations in wealth (with which gradations the plutocracy is inevitably associated) increase the general social friction and produce an acute social irritation. . . We are developing new types of destitutes - the automobileless, the yachtless, the Newport-cottageless. The subtlest of luxuries become necessities, and their loss is bitterly resented. The discontent of today reaches very high on the social scale."

Progressive reform wasn't some kind of workers movement: it was a consequence of a burgeoning middle class with a fear and envy of extreme wealth, and as of yet, it has not noticeably reduced the number of rich people or alleviated much poverty.

All this technological progress and we've progressed nowhere!! Inequality as bad as ever with 40% GDP spending - success!!

Well, at least state why you disagree.
I used to think weed relieved stress from me, but it never did. It would just momentarily make me forget problems that would only come back a few minutes later when I'd start thinking about them.
Not everyone's experience is the same on weed, but the majority of people do end up being lazy, not reaching their full potential, etc.
All I know is I would gladly start using weed again if I had a good job and made enough money to justify purchasing it. As of right now, it'll do nothing for me but drain my funds.

In what way is Mary Jane beneficial to you?
