Coffee, soda, energy drink, etc? Any rules for not drinking past a certain time? How early do you consume your first drink?

I stopped a couple weeks ago, now it's just like a half cup a soda here or there

I used to drink about a large coffee with cream and sugar nearly everyday but since it's now winter, I like to get hot cocoa after my last class. Drink it and relax, watch some youtube. Then stop by the gym and watch people play ball until about 6-6:30. Sleep/do work and then ball from 10:30-12 at night. Been a daily habit. I study till 3-4 am after. I'm an early morning person, much more effective after 1am for some reason.

Some of the guys at 6pm are really good so sometimes I catch myself watching them longer then expected.

I did and I didn't. I was drinking one of these every single morning with my breakfast for who knows how long and big cups as much as I desired when I got back home.

Before that it was Mountain Dew

That practice I quit.

**** coffee. Tastes like shit. The only caffeine I get is from soda (Preferably Strawberry/Grape Soda) and I drink that stuff once every 1-2 weeks.

Do you drink any caffeine as a substitute now in the morning? I don't get how people rely on caffeine in the morning. I need sustainable energy, not bursts then a crash before noon. I'm looking for that now. Exercise in the morning is a start. Try it

None. And when I work out in the mornings I still get sleepy an hour or so later only now I got muscle fatigue to really emphasize it

Its because it's so much easier to get going with that caffeine and people who have desk jobs where they are sitting on their ass most of the day won't really get a chance to wake up. For me, I do physical work so I prefer my coffee after lunch when I have to gear up for the second half of the day. I just have to suffer through that first stage of laziness that is sometimes there in the morning until my blood gets pumping. I don't like drinking more than one coffee because it can mess with my sleep and I like mine sugary so it's just extra calories and sugar.

Good night sleep with 20-30 mins or so of moderate exercise after waking is a great way to get going... Just a brisk walk will do it. But I just personally don't see enough benefits from waking up earlier and either losing sleep/or free time in the evening to justify exercising in the morning. That being said... if I didn't have a job that got me moving anyway, I might not feel that way.

Bottom line it's all about how can you not feel shitty while at work... find whatever works for you.

What do you do for work? And how do you recover everyday from working in a physically demanding job? Thats good you moderate your coffee consumption.

And yeah i agree with the last person. Everyones situation is unique and different, do what you need to do

There's 51mg of caffeine in a bottle that size :facepalm

That's like a small cup of black tea or 1/3 of a cup of coffee aka it ain't shit, barely enough to have an effect if at all :coleman:

Have a big cafetiere pretty much every morning while i read something. Drink 3-4 cans of ice cold diet coke during the day as well (it is amazing just how well this goes with benzos, joints, opiates, cigs of which i take some combination more or less every day).

Depends, i like coffee and i've been drinking it for the past 2 years although not regularly, weird that i'm not addicted to caffeine yet. So it's not necessary for me after i wake compared to other people who can't start their day if they haven't chugged down at least a liter of coffee. As for Soda i don't buy soda all i have at home is orange juice and bottled water if i drink its A when i'm at school and need some sugar or when i'm out clubbing i usually drink Red Bull maybe a coke

Enjoy living to 40.

I'll have a cup of black coffee each morning. The real kind, not that instant shit.

Get real. If i die that young it will be unrelated to any of those things (none of which aside from cigs have been shown to shorten lifespan anyway), most likely in a traffic accident. Things can be used in a moderate, supplementary and non-addictive way, you know. Besides, i very rarely drink these days as i don't have time for that kind of socialising right now, and booze is far harder on your body than any of those things (besides possibly smoking, which i do infrequently as well).

Having a cup of coffee, smoking a cigarette, and then taking a dump in the morning is one of the finer things in life. You don't know what you're missing.

I haven't been addicted to coffee at all even though I've been drinking regularly for 3-4 years now.

I drink a cup every weekday in the morning as I get in for work. That's it. Nothing on weekends. I might drink tea during the weekends if I crave a hot beverage.

I don't know how people drink coke etc in the mornings, I can't stand sweet things in the morning. It is popular though, several people at work drink coke, mountain dew etc in the morning.

I'm don't need an energy boost throughout the day.

I drink coffee about 2-3 times a week though, not for the caffeine, usually only because I love the taste. Haven't drank a fizzy drink in about a month or two, trying to stay off the stuff. Even when I did drink it, it was only every couple weeks or so on average. Tea is drank about 2-3 times a week too.

Coffee in morning
caffeine in pre workout before gym
coffee in afternoon
tea in evening

Probably about 600mg a day during the week, maybe 400 on the weekends

For people who don't want the added calories or cost of coffee just get a bottle of caffeine pills. Can get 100 for about $7, they have 200mg each (about a cup of coffee). Can even cut them in half and get 200 servings if you don't need the full 200mg

I lot of black people drink OJ with their fast food dinner. It's a tradition in my hood that we drink OJ and smoke kush.

Speaking of juice, what are your thoughts on the more delectable juice; grape.

I do landscaping so it's all sort of different things from mowing lawns, edging, blowing and light exercise things like that to shoveling, digging, and other fairly intense things.

Today for recovery, I'm just sitting on my ass... I've been doing fairly difficult physically demanding work (shoveling) and working out hard that past week or so I need some down time. Most of the time the job isn't physically demanding enough for me not to work out when I get home. When I worked for solar city installing solar panels up on roofs... when the day is done, unless you are just a freakin animal, you aren't doing anything for the rest of the day. I worked out on my off days... but when I got home from work I sat around, relaxed, and made sure I got 8 hours plus of sleep. I didn't drink any coffee though while doing that job though because you lose too much fluid and the last thing I needed was something that dehydrated me (coffee) while sweating my ass off up on a roof. It's said that coffee/caffeine in moderation don't cause dehydration, but for me when I drink coffee, I get cotton mouth and need water.

This is so true. Just reading it made me a little relaxed. I haven't smoked a cig in such a long time and I ain't getting back in to it but those three things he just mentioned put together is the definition of relaxation.
