Durant is the best player in the league.

Durant is a great player no doubt, but the best player in the league is LeBron James. No doubt about it.

Anybody know when Durant is coming back?

He will miss the first 6 weeks. Will still have the most free throw attempts this season.

With Lebron showing his age and experiencing a dramatic and unprecedented decline in athleticism and skill I think Durant really has a great chance to be the best player in the league if he comes back healthy.

First off, Kevin Durant is my favorite current player in the NBA.

With that said, LeBron James is still the best player in the game and that is because Kevin Durant has a major flaw in his game with a lack of a post up game. I'm not prepared to say is the best player until he can effectively punish smaller players like Chris Paul, Danny Green and other small players like that.

His inability to be dominant in the post is the only thing holding him back from being the best player in the league.

So who was the best player in the league a couple of seasons ago when Lebron's biggest weakness was his post game?

I have always loved Lebron James. I'm a huge fan of his. And he's been the best player in the league for a couple of years. But the fact of the matter is, let the sad truth be told, he is no longer the best player in the league.
1. Durant
2. Carmelo
3. Lebron

Lebron

But according to his logic you can't be the best play unless you can dominate the post :confusedshrug:

If Durant still can't win this year he'll be exposed as a FRAUD

Durant was exposed as a fraud last season. It's time we accept that he is what he is, regular season hero/playoff zero.

In before some Thunder fan start complaining about the title

Kevin Durant likes 'The Servant'

"I like to serve everybody. My teammates. Ushers at the game. The fans," Durant said in an interview Friday, when asked why he chose "The Servant" as his new moniker.

thats not whats hes saying at all.

He says if Durant had a post game he would be better than Lebron

So who was the best player in the league a couple of seasons ago when Lebron's biggest weakness was his post game?

There was a huge gap between LeBron James and the rest the leg three or four seasons ago even with him needing to develop a more effective post again. LeBron was always able to post players up, he just chose not to. It was a mental decision on his part.

When Kevin Durant allows smaller players to guard him it takes away from his effectiveness on the dribble penetration and negatively affects his game. It is a weakness that must be improved.

Judging by the lack of All Star votes neither have the fans. :lol
The stats are all there, but there's no WOW factor or sexiness in his game. I watched him on Sunday against the Cavs, and despite scoring 32 points he had no impact on the game. That game was pretty much a summation of his season thus far. :confusedshrug:

Great post JT. He doesn't seem to have the impact that say...a player like LeBron does. Stats are decent - but is he contributing to wins at that level? I don't think so.

We need a Kobe "the rapist" Bryant discussion thread, a thread where we could discuss new improvements on the rotator cuff surgery and the chances of him posting a 20 ppg 40% season in his future years

Durant is underrated on this board. Seems the only time people hype him up is to hate on Bron. Clearly still a top 2 player. Top 10 talent. Top 15 as the 10 list is already crowded.

That said, Servant is the worse nickname ever.

You know what's funny? Kobe thread has 4 pages (and he's not even relevant anymore), LeBron has 40+ and this one is just reaching #3 with Durant in the prime of his career. :oldlol: Durant is irrelevant, not an Icon like "The King".

If I am the coach and need to choose a player for the last game winning shot I would chose Durant among all the others. He is hitting his prime at the moment and if not for the injuries this season he would be a legit MVP candidate.

Durant's Real Plus Minus is just +2.74 this season

Has he really been that bad?

To put that into perspective injured LeBron is at +5.19, Westbrook is at +5.27, Ibaka +4.58.
