I didn't see the game, but a lot of players tend to step up their overall games after playing with Team USA, especially if they were in a leadership role. It's almost as if playing with a team full of players who are basically your equal or better challenges you to get better.

He isn't just "playing some defense." He's literally shutting down anyone who tries to take him one on one. Not only that, he's closing out on the shooters perfectly. His rebounding is still excellent and his lateral quickness looks better.
