While 50+ teams are out of the playoffs in the west...this gap will only increase as season goes on.
Its time we acknowledge players playing in the west post 90's should be a tier above players playing in the east their whole careers.

Is it just a coincidence that LeBron has always played in the East?

Watch OKC go on a tear down the stretch when they are healthy, and just miss out with 50 wins. Meanwhile in the East, some crappy team nobody cares about makes it in on 39 wins. And you'll get the apologists saying how the system is fine, the East isn't really weaker, the West plays no defense, blah blah. Meanwhile, the Thunder will be looking like the best team last 20 games and Durant will be playing like an MVP, but they miss out.
I'm sure the NBA will be happy with that.

#1 seed in the East would be tied for 8th in the West right now

It could though. It would suck massively. The only good thing is the league might be forced to reconsider playoff format. Just read that 11 times out of the last 14 years, the 9th place team in the West had a better record than the 8th seeded team in the East.
