Great hops, but he can't compete with the black guys, and would have difficulty doing this in-game because he has small hands. Jordan Farmar had 48" vert, how many crazy dunks have you seen him do? The best dunkers got the vertical and the hands. Without big hands, you lose big time fluidity and style too.

Moreover, Farmar's in-game dunk opportunities have usually called for one-foot takeoffs. If he achieved his 42'' max off two-feet but maybe finds himself slightly below that number in games off one foot (accounting for fatigue), his crazy dunk limitations would seem to make a little more sense. I'm not sure I've seen much elevation to suggest Farmar's ever touching more than 40''.

All that said, small hands can still get down pretty dirty in-games when combined with a vert like the feller in the original post. But obviously that'd depend upon his skills as a basketball player.

Yeah. I dunno what makes a dunk artful per se, but I know it when I see it.

Dudes think cuz you can hop it makes you a great dunker, but that's not true. Some dudes you could just watch messing around dunking in a gym. Just like some girls are attractive in the way they walk or dancing, whatever... it's something on that level.

That being said, having dudes who can just dunk the shit out of the ball as hard as they can is fun to watch too.

Vince at 6'6 pulled off a normal straight-up elbow dunk in a dunk contest and everyone's jaw's dropped like they saw the ocean split into two, and this 6'1 white guy pulled off a DOUBLE ELBOW REVERSE dunk OVER SOMEONE, and you can only say, "he got some hops but lack artistry."?

I was thinking I might be judging him differently because he's white. Idk tho. I see him dunk and don't really feel anything. Not sure what it is.

Here's a theory: He dunks so effortlessly that it's not exciting because it does not look like he's trying. Looking at other dunk videos, I think that's it.

like i said, it's like ballet or figure skating. competitors can be pulling off the same tricks or moves in a skating competition, but that shit all look the same to me. that's because i don't know shit about figure skating. but the experts or people with trained eyes can tell you who did it better.

if you have a trained eye for artistry of dunks like everyone else in the thread, then maybe you would know what i'm talking about, but you obviously don't.

dunking is kinda like dancing in air with a basketball. it is artistic expression. when you watch it, you will feel he either got it or he don't. there's an art form done in the air. for example, the fluidity or artistry is what separates a vince carter 360 from others also doing a 360. it might look the same shit to the untrained eye like yours, but it ain't. and it has nothing to do with black or white.
