I don't get it, what's so bad about LeBron ball?

In 11 seasons LeBron ball only missed the playoffs in two years (rookie and sophomore year). Made the finals 5 times in 11 seasons and won back to back Championships.

Why would I run my offence through someone else when I have LeBron on my team? If everyone else needs to become spot up shooters, then so be it. It's a proven winning system. Where has Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love taken his team except for fishing trips? Give the ball to LeBron, and let him go to work. He's an unselfish dude that will feed you when you're open. He will find you if make a good cut. You got a top 10 player in NBA history in his prime and you're gonna let someone else make plays?

:confusedshrug:

Same with Kobe ball, two back to back Championships, three final appearances in 10 seasons since Shaq left.

I like how you just had to include that last part.

Nothing is wrong with LeBron ball when used correctly. It's just that... you can't really discuss LeBron ball on here.

This site his hell bent on showing that LeBron ball "held back" Wade and Bosh and other narratives. It's whatever at this point. Having a rational discussion about it won't change anyone's minds.

LeBron doesn't WANT to have the ball all the time.

HE HATES RESPONSIBILITY

Kobe ball is destructive. See 2012-13 Lakers. Phil-ball on the other hand is great.

Well, they're the only two players in our era that are considered ball hogs, but still had a lot of success.

You're right, most threads are agenda based nowadays. It's annoying.

When two or three great players come together to play, they're gonna hold each other back to some extend. It's simple concepts like this some people just don't seem to understand, or are just plainly trolling, idk.

Kevin Love is a beast.

It would be awesome for him to play huge roles in their offensive sets

Lebron ball is about forcing everyone else to sacrifice their game, otherwise you stop playing.

Good post.

And K-Love and LeBron have actually been functioning quite well together. LeBron is finding Love those open 3s and Love is getting those outlet passes out to LeBron on the fastbreak.

LeBron looks like he's having some problems though. His energy doesn't seem to be quite what it used to be. Not sure if he's having back problems or what

Same with every other star player ever. If you want to play with a superstar, you are going to have to sacrifice some of your stats/game. It's simple logic. There's one ball and five players to share the ball. If you have the best player in the league on your team, you won't get as many touches as you would if you were the leader on your team :hammerhead:

Because you're gonna play through Bosh when you have LeBron and Wade on your team? Wade's stats didn't take a drop until 2012 when he started declining, which shows that he didn't exactly "sacrifice" playing with LeBron.

Same with how World Peace went from the first option averaging 17PPG on the Rockets to 11PPG on the Lakers.

Everybody has to make sacrifices when they team up with other great players to win a ring.

The only way to win with lebron ball is through stacking and stars willing to sacrifice. Thats why bran has to cheat to win and still a ray allen away from being 1-3.

Because it's boring to watch and shows the limitations of Lebron James's game - if he can only play in this one way then he's simply not as good as people think he is. And Miami didn't play Bron ball in 2011 and the team was flying before Lebron either choked or threw a tantrum in the final because someone was overshadowing Mr. Centre-of-Attention

Lol, they had like a 8-9 start before they "figured" everything out. They got by 2011 off talent alone, you're right in the sense that they didn't play Lebron ball since it was just Wade and LeBron taking turns.

Shit worked until the finals. Wade exploded against the Celtics, while LeBron beasted against the Bulls. Mavs exposed this and figured they were just gonna let Wade get his while they didn't their best locking up LeBron. Which ended the Heat's "taking turns" philosophy.

2012 came LeBron ball, and we know what happened next.

Because it only works on a championship level when you have multiple all stars & a plethora of shooters

Most players have a hard time getting into their rhythm during a game under Lebron ball. That's why you must have multiple all stars

because they don't need to "stay in rhythm" offensively to be effective as they can pick their own spots throughout the game.

ironically enough, people wouldnt be trashing lebron if the cavs had started the season better, or if they had won last night, and they lost last night with lebron coasting and deferring a ton, instead of dominating the ball, like people accuse him of doing.

there was an inbounds play with 2 seconds left, where, bizarrely he screened to get tristan thompson open for a jumper instead of looking for his own shot.

he missed a few bunnies at the rim in the first quarter, and he was really passive from that point onwards.

What makes you say that? Where's the proof in this?

Is this the case with Kobe as well?

And if Lebron had handled the sacrifice in that series, and played like a good little second option, the Heat would have won.

But Lebron doesn’t play like that. You MUST subordinate to HIM, or he will shut down completely.

It's legacy blackmail.

Exactly. He isn't an adaptable player, he'd rather force everyone else on the team to change then he change.

And he asks his teammates to stop being selfish :lol
