37.7% and a 1-8 start today. What a waste this guy is. All these physical tools going to waste.

To be fair, I'm not sure this is much on SVG tonight. Smith's just shooting horribly. He had one dunk blocked and was hung on another. He's also had at least two sequences where he missed a bunny then rushed and missed the subsequent tip. At least he's in the right area.

His shot chart thus far (2-13):

To be clear, none of that excuses Smith being bad. I'm just saying, it's not like he's 0-8 from deep tonight while SVG's over there not giving a care. Though, speaking of threes, so far this season Smith's attempting the least amount of triples per game than he has since 2011. We'll have to see if that holds. Next step: eliminating his running baseline floater attempts from behind the backboard.

his shot selection based on that chart is actually pretty good. only 3 attempts from outside the paint.

He had two misses in close that led to multi-tip rebound field goal attempts, so it was a combo string of misses, making the performance look a little worse than one may imagine.

He always has a shit game against NY for some reason. It's the only time I get to see him play, and he's always having a hard time... for years.
