View Full Version : Simple fix for the Cavs: Trade Kyrie for Rondo
A lock down perimeter defender, with the added benefit of being able to distribute and find the open man.
Rondo needs to be on this Cavs team. The players they have now are all good, they just dont fit together.

Having Kyrie & Love is not enough for Bran :kobe:

That's not a bad idea- I haven't considered this one yet. On paper would seem to be a decent/good fit (considering Kyrie is not known for his C&S game, defense, or unselfishness). Would certainly fix the shot distribution on this squad. I think he & Love would work well together, but from a sheer chemistry standpoint, LBJ & Rondo probably couldn't make it work.
I was thinking maybe Teague + a first round pick for Kyrie. Would clearly accept the role as a third option. This also allows them great financial flexibility by keeping their cap holds low enough for them to definitely be able to execute S&Ts next summer. There is some doubt that they'll be able to use the Haywood contract in a S&T right now with all of their commitments & cap holds for next year.
ATL gets a guy with "star" qualifications locked up for 5 years.

Why would the Celtics want a 6'1 less efficient with less heart Isaiah Thomas?

Lebron relegates players to being spotup shooters
Rondo shoots like Shaq
and lol @ Rondo being a lockdown defender

Perfect fit is actually Mike Conley for Kyrie. Obviously not straight up.
Grizzlies need a perimeter star scorer. Cavs need defensive point guard who's solid at the 3 and moving the ball.

That's a very good person for this role but I doubt Memphis trades him this season or this off-season. They have a legit shot to make a run this year.

I would love to see Rondo spot up in the corner and shoot 3s all game.

You guys proposing these trades act as if any GM would just toss the player to perfectly suit a role for Kyrie. Kyrie, kills chemistry and isnt a PG. Guys a ****ing SG in a PG body. No one wants that or his MAX contract. The Grizz are certainly not giving away a stud in Conley and Rondo is not gonna play with lebron ever.

I doubt the Celtics want to help build a team that will prevent them from reaching a finals within their conference.
I could see a Kyrie for Chris Paul trade if Clips fail again.

Cavs need a pg who will sit in the corner and shoot threes. That is not Rondo.
