Minny is a decent team that would be a playoff team in the Least. Lakers and Denver are the only below avg teams and Denver would prolly still make playoffs in Least.

Yeah, I'm having strong doubts about OKC making the playoffs this year.

They need to overhaul the playoff system fast. The East is just too big of a joke.

Never watched the NBA in the 1990s, huh?

Drexler's Blazers
Dream's Rockets
Shaq and Kobe's Lakers
KJ's/Chambers'/Barkley's Suns
Stockton and Malone's Jazz
Kemp and Payton's Sonics
Robinson's Spurs
Run-TMC's Warriors

Those Western teams were stacked. For multiple whole seasons.

This season is still early. Wait until around Feb. and see which teams hit the wall.

Lakers and Nuggets are the only shit teams, everyone else is at least average and could beat any team on any night

The best teams -- Shaq and Kobe's Lakers, 60+ Kings, Dirk/Finley/Nash Mavs, Sheed/Scottie/Sabonis Blazers -- were better than the top teams now, but it's definitely deeper now.

It's close.

there is more depth but it's a lot less top-heavy. believe it or not the east was arguably stronger/deeper in the 90's.

Arguably but not definitely. Stockton, Malone, Barkley, Drexler, Olajuwon, Shaq, Kemp, Webber, Payton all played in the West among others. If the East was better, or even more top heavy, which I'm not sure was the case - it was the margin was pretty slim.

The Warriors are about to surprise people this year.

I've been following the NBA since the late 80's, and a Conference has never been this stacked from top to bottom. You could argue that the West in the early 00's was more top heavy though, with the Spurs and Lakers both being elite, dynasty level teams.

Nah, they really weren't... Shaq/Kobe, yeah... But the rest is pretty even with today and today's are much deeper.

Being far too generous to the Lakers with that description. They are by far the worst team in the NBA.

Never watched the NBA in the 1990s, huh?

Drexler's Blazers - early 90s
Dream's Rockets - mid 90s
Shaq and Kobe's Lakers - late 90s
KJ's/Chambers'/Barkley's Suns - early 90s
Stockton and Malone's Jazz - whole 90s
Kemp and Payton's Sonics - mid-late 90s
Robinson's Spurs - whole 90s
Run-TMC's Warriors - early 90s

Those Western teams were stacked. For multiple whole seasons.

But they didn't all play at the same time

Last year's first round playoffs were amazing... Hopefully we have more memorable moments like that lillard buzzer beater.

They need to overhaul the playoff system fast. The East is just too big of a joke. You know it's real when one requires 50 wins to even get in and the other has 2 or 3 teams who were trying to tank for the first half of the season:roll:
