They need to have a fire-sale.

Deandre - no post/offense game, bad defender, does nothing for spacing

Barnes - would barely get mins on any other team yet is starting, consistently makes poor decisions

Reddick - undersized SG who is bad for defense and an inconsistent shooter.

Bench - awful.

They need someone who can score on the perimeter (Gay would've made sense for them) and a big who can at least play consistent defense if he's not going to score (like Perkins did for the C's)

Who could they realistically get with what they have?

Jordan's been switching and trying to cover up for the lackadaisical defensive play of his teammates, namely Blake. Dude's crashing the boards as much as he can, and his rebounding numbers have dropped due to the weakside help. Clippers, as a team, outside of DJ, arent' grabbing any rebounds, again, especially Blake.

Barnes is starting only because the other options at small forward would be Jared Cunningham, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Reggie Bullock. I'd start Bullock over him, Cunningham is way too small, and Douglas-Roberts has been atrocious.

JJ is just missing everything, he'll get his shooting touch back, and while, he is a bad individual defender (still not as bad as guys like Harden, Kyrie, etc.), he plays good when there is a good team defensive scheme.

The bench is doing well at the guards with Crawford and Farmar. I mean, Craw is dropping over 20 a game, with 3.5 dimes, 1.8 steals and only 1.8 turnovers. Just ill. Hawes is struggling, he just doesn't seem to be gelling with the team, and if that never occurs, we will be in for a struggle.

Realistically, the Clippers need to try to package Hawes with any of our small forwards (preferably without Bullock), and get a decent starting three.

Chris Douglas Robert's is always atrocious unless it's in a D-League game.

Didn't know a "top 10 player of all time" needs to have the most stacked team to have a chance of being .500.

But that's none of my business.

did you also not know that the 'best player in the nba' can get only 23 ppg 41% fg in his prime?

Reddick is not an inconsistent shooter. He's playing AWFUL right now and bricking everything... which I guess by definition does make him inconsistent, but within a week or two he'll be raining 3s.

Yup. With JJ it'll be the law of averages. He'll have a five game, or so stretch, where he'll probably shooting near 60% from the field/3.

Clippers are fine. They need to work on their defense and rebounding, which often comes down to energy and intensity.

They could use an athletic wing defender. They also don't have any players who really attack the rim off the dribble.

This...They're basically a jump shooting team even though they have a ton of talent...The only one who gets to the rim is Blake and that's mainly off of pick and rolls, same with DJ. Crawford can create but he shoots mostly jumpers, same with CP3...

And we know jump shooting teams rarely win, unless your San Antonio and they are an exception because they have excellent ball movement and most of their jumpshots are open...Also, Parker gets into the paint consistently and so does Manu..and then they can still dump it down to Duncan if they need to...

This. They've been drifting away from their "Lob City" identity, and those dunks gave the crowd, as well as themselves, energy, that jumpshots just don't bring. And their bench took a steep decline with Hawes and Farmar replacing Collison. Neither are good defenders and Farmar's numbers last year were likely because of the MDA system, as Marshall, Bazemore, Xavier Henry, and Wesley Johnson all aren't doing much this year so far either. It's too early to panic but if this continues for the next month they should consider making some trades.

Disagree with the first statement. A team this poor at the 3 won't be making any noise in the post-season. Performance by committee isn't reliable. So frustrating to think we went after Hawes when the last real small forward we had was Butler (I think).

Matt Barnes is much better on the second unit. Bullock probably won't be the answer any time soon. Douglas-Roberts is ****ing awful and I still can't believe we signed this guy.

We need a wing, badly, period. Ariza would have been great. I really hope we can steal Draymond Green next year.

Think the last sentence needs a little revising: after Blake Griffin, we don't have any other player that does that.

Clippers are doing fine. They are the third best team in the league behind a healthy okc and the spurs.

They have good enough peices they just really need to dig down deep execute plays and play their asses off when the mean those teams in the playoffs thats all.

They got what they need....

Yep, and when the game slows down in the playoffs, I still favor San Antonio and OKC because at least they can play a half court game...The Clippers don't go to the basket enough and don't have a reliable post up player. Neither does OKC but Russell and Westbrook both get to the rim and line a ton.....I may even favor Houston over them for that same reason...

Not that I have watched him play in college and he definitely doesn't ever play in the pros. But I thought Bullock was supposed to be a decent player. So exactly why can't he get minutes?
