This was supposed to be a good test and measuring stick for the Rockets, but Pop is sitting out Duncan and Manu :facepalm
I would be pissed if I had tickets tonight. It's only the second week and he's already resting his players. Can't argue with his success though

Greg is sitting them out to boost the Rockets pride and ego during the regular season to fool them into thinking they are better than the Spurs until the play-offs come, to give the Rockets a false sense of pride.

It would be funny if the Spurs still win.
Is the first two pages of this thread going to be predictions of a Houston L and Harden putting up 14 points on 3/18 shooting?
I hope so, it worked so well for the haters against the Heat game.

Because the first several pages of the last Rox game thread was full of tears and shame.

Ariza can. He's the difference maker on this team. He's the cog that was missing last season.

Pop doesn't give a damn about regular season back to back games in ****ing November, but the league is still going to bitch about it and probably fine him. It's almost like Pop's job is to sell tickets in Houston and not win Championships for the Spurs.
Pop stopped playing Timmy and Manu in back to back games like three years ago, but it's only a big deal when they play on national tv. It's a "shock" every time.

Disgrace to basketball.
1. TNT gets screwed. TNT paid for this. This decreases broadcasting rights revenue next time contract is renewed. All 29 other teams are hurt because of this.
2. Fans who buy Tickets for the game at Toyota Center gets screwed.

I put this on the NBA, they know the Spurs bench their best players on a back to back and they still schedule them to play on national TV on a back to back. NBA is at fault hear.

Well it's not a "sure thing" bet but 1.90 payback is pretty good all things considered IMO.
Houston has been doing good in many of the previous matchups, they have been doing good this season. Howard has been playing well.
Spurs are missing their top 2 big men, played last night, are missing two other players as well, have not reached anything close to their peak play yet this season.

The big men point is a good one.
Howard is going to rape the inside. Just depends if rockets are able to build a big enough lead where the Spurs don't have a chance to claw their way back in it.
If Rockets let them hang around, it will likely end up being within that 6.5 margin.
Good luck with your bet though

brutal last few minutes for harden. this guy doesn't just call for the ball, he'll literally run over and stand beside you until you give it to him. at one point he chases down ariza in the corner and demands the ball; ariza keeps it but with two defenders easily swarming he loses it. sigh
running the break on a 3v3 with a trailer coming behind and he tries to split the defense.

Greg is sitting them out to boost the Rockets pride and ego during the regular season to fool them into thinking they are better than the Spurs until the play-offs come, to give the Rockets a false sense of pride.
Wrong.. Pop sat them out to spare his players pride.. Even he knows it's a bad match up :lol. Houston owns the Spurs ass.. Too bad Lillard hit that shot last season huh.

People really getting hype over a blow out against a team with 5 players missing.
:lol
What was the Spurs record against Houston last season? The year Houston didn't even attempt to play defense.
Lol, your team has no answers.. And dont even mention Duncan and Manu.. Houston is simply better at those spots, hence.. Bad match up

Harden with another nice all-around game and Howard just played his best game in almost 2 years. I know we played a Spurs team with no Duncan, Ginobili, Splitter, and Mills, but im still really happy we got the win tonight.
Next game is against the Warriors. Battle of the undefeated!

5-2 in James Harden era
4 blow outs including that game where Mark Jackson started hacking us to prevent Rockets from setting a NBA record in 3 points made in a game (dropped 140 on the Warriors)

With the improvement of Cannan and terry we have upgrade at the PG position. Trevor and Papanikola also is an upgrade over last season. Now if Jones continues his improvement from last season and Dmo somehow becomes productive and stops being soft, that should be at the very least on equal footing compared to the production we got last season.
Tonights game was over 30 point lead at one stage but I would put to much stock into it.

Houston owns San Antonio. Another easy win. What a surprise.
6-0. This is the best Rockets squad we've had since the Olajuwon era in 94. We're literally murdering every team we play. Scary.

We lost in game 6 on a buzzerbeater. Only thing closer would be game 7.

"stop overrated the Rockets"...have you been drinking?
What did I say that's not true. Duncan is a all time great player, but there's a reason why Pop now holds him out.. Father time catches up with us all and he can't keep up with Dwight (love how people don't even mention our starting PF and PG also didn't play.. Houston dominates inside) the numbers and last season's record already proved that.
And are you really going to suggest that Manu is better than Harden? Again bad match up. Match ups make fights and Houston is simply better at key positions, especially if they play the type of defense that they have this season.
Good news is there's still 3 more games between these 2 teams, including 2 games on SA's home court, so you'll figure it out.

The Memphis game is really the huge test. They will test the Rockets ball movement and spacing with their physical style of game. The warriors game will be free flowing which suits the Rockets but the Memphis game will test this teams style the most.
