Remove Wade
Insert West

Then somehow be biased against Isaiah Thomas and we have a deal.

Why do you think KG > Tim? Just curious, btw.

Cool, but it's not like anything you've said about him isn't totally agenda-driven based on your own homophobic ideologies (it was a little odd seeing just how many times you brought that up when mentioning him -- are you insecure about something?) or whatever else you have against him.
I defended Jordan's dick size ... I'm not insecure about anything.

I dislike the lack of objectivity when it comes to Duncan. He's overrated by casual fans who want to project themselves as knowledgable basketball fans pretending to know what they're talking about by repping him. His failures are never examined.

He's a center, and I don't think he's better than any of those guys I mentioned. I'm not even confident he's better than David Robinson from his own franchise. But people can't see that either. They see his lock out rings, and championships he won with stacked rosters without always being the best player ... things get blurred.

Well...at least on here anyway, many posters didn't witness the failures.

I've always said he choked the last 2 games against LA in 01, played very underwhelming in the 04 WCSF and Olympics (though he was still the team's best player where you'd relegate him to being something far worse), and was disappointing in 08 on the offensive end. That's it. He was in TOSB mode in 2011 and I've seen many people hold it against him.

I don't see many people talking about Shaq getting swept like 5 years straight, showing no character or leadership in that period. Just being his usual clown self until the established GOAT coach came in. Why aren't you mad at the lack of objectivity there? And I'm fine with him being called a Center, even not a top 5 one if you like (though I'd strongly disagree).

The 03 squad is one of the weakest in recent memory. All objective signs agree (least experienced championship roster in a couple of decades, terrible offensive output, lack of a second star). Bye-bye only winning with stacked squads theory.

TL;DR: say Duncan's not top 5 C if you want. But don't act like he doesn't have a very strong case.

I'll do the top5...

PG:
1. Magic
2. Oscar
(very tough now but)
3. Isiah
4. Stockton
5. Frazier

SG:
1. Jordan
2. Kobe
3. West
4. Wade
5. Drexler/Gervin

SF:
1. Bird
2. LeBron
3. Erving
4./5. Hondo/Baylor

PF:
1. Duncan
2. Malone
3./4. Barkley/KG
5. Dirk/Pettit

C:
1. Kareem
2. Russell
3./4. Wilt/Shaq
5. Hakeem

Best peak as an overall player:
1. Shaq
then, in no particular order, Kareem, Jordan, Wilt and Bird

There are a few things in this post that I feel are either incorrect or I disagree with, so I'll break it down point by point

1. Duncan was a power forward for the first decade of his career, through the '06 season according to basketball reference, so I don't see why he shouldn't be listed as one, especially when you consider he spent his prime years at that position

2. The '03 Spurs, while featuring all the big names, were far from stacked. Robinson was in his last year and wasn't even averaging 10 ppg anymore, while Parker and Ginobili were just starting out, only in their second and first NBA seasons respectively. Look at these numbers and try telling me this team was "stacked" http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SAS/2003.html#all_playoffs_per_game

3. I'd say Duncan was the best player on both the '05 and '07 title teams, so the assertion he wasn't always the best player on his title teams, when he was for 4/5 of them, at least imo, is incorrect

4. And I'm curious, what failures of his need to be examined?

Kidd
Nash/Payton/CP3

SG:

Bron
Pip
Durant (well he will be at least #3)

PF:
Duncan
KG
Barkley/Malone/ Dirk

C:
Shaq/Hakeem
Robinson

I think they're 1a/1b. Just much higher on KG's defense, and level of play overall in their primes.

Would prefer Duncan to start a franchise since he's better offensively.

100% agreed, except I would move Lebron ahead of Bird.

On the Wilt-Kareem-Russell debates...

I have moved KAJ above Russell in my all-time list. However, I find it fascinating that there are those that rank KAJ above Chamberlain, despite the fact that a prime Kareem was just not as dominant, nor as successful, as a prime Chamberlain.

And the realilty was, Chamberlain wiped the floor with a prime Russell his entire career. Had the two swapped rosters and coaches, and it would have been Wilt holding all the rings. Furthermore, Chamberlain would have gone on to face the Lakers several times in the post-season in the decade of the 60's, and I don't think it is even speculation to presume that he would hold almost every Finals (and post-season) scoring and efficiency record.

This is different, separating the all time and the one year peak. Well then again, I guess there have been threads that separate the two. Wilkins as one of the top 3 of all time, huh? And Griffin as one of the best peak?

Totally agree on the 6th man mentions (I would put Cooper in there tho). I never really thought about it in this case because it's not a position really, but more of a role. It still would be interesting to see what ppl think is the best 6th man is. Mchale ftw

Top 3 PLAYERS, sorted by position, is different than top 3 PGs, SGs, SFs, PFs, Cs. For example, I think Westbrook is a better player than Paul, but Paul is a better PG.

That said, top 3 PLAYERS, sorted by position...

Oscar

SF:
