With all the guys getting overpaid what can Butler get? dude looks much improved and a guy who can score and lock you down on the other end.

What could he get? and would Bulls match any offer?

if he continues to play like this, asserting himself on offense and with the present efficiency, someone will offer him something near max contract. Dude is a beast defensively, becoming a great offensive player and with so much room to continue to improve, bulls would be retarded not to match any offer.

if he can start hitting 3s and continue to improve his offense, his game will start to look like PGs

I honestly don't think he'll ever have the offensive game of PG, at least not the 3pt shot or overall shooting touch of PG.

But one thing is for sure, he plays harder than most players and he draws contact like a mother ****er. Seeing Jimmy get to the line consistently so far is very promising..

The Cavs are lucky they didn't see him in the Bulls home opener and that Rose landed on Kyries foot, because then the Cavs would have just one win over the Nuggs last night.

If he sustains something close to this...like 17 ppg with improved efficiency from range, while maintaining top 3-5 perimeter defense..he's getting 11 mil/yr at the least and I wouldn't be surprised if some team offered him 14-15. He's only 25, with the improvements he's shown I wouldn't put it past him to become a consistent 20 ppg player 2-3 years from now. His confidence is through the roof to go along with much improved skills like his long ball, handles, midrange, etc. He had the defense but he's refining his offense a lot. Could be an elite two-way player.

if parsons is getting 15, i don't see why butler can't get 12-14 if he does sustain around 17 ppg shooting at 45%

I will seriously lose my mind if the bulls go cheap and let him go.

No one is safe, I'll be looking for heads.

If he ask for a max contract is it really going cheap to let him go? :confusedshrug:

right now he's putting up 20 6 4 on 50%. if he continues that production on top of first team all nba defense, then yes it would be dumb not to give him what he wants. If he looks more like he did last year and he asks for the max, then let him go.

You guys didn't sign him simply hoping he takes less next summer. Bulls FO hoping that his RFA status makes other teams afraid to sign him to a big offer sheet. Kinda the same thing that happened with Bledsoe. He wanted, what, $17M per year, and settled for $14M per year.

Bulls don't have the resources to find a suitable, experienced replacement due to their cap sheet. He's gonna stick around, just hoping to get him a bit cheaper. Plus, it allows Bulls to maybe sign other players before inking him to a new deal (same way SAS is playing out the Leonard situation).

I haven't seen a guy give this much effort on the floor since AI. Guy deserves a $20m contract
