Who would you rather have in your team? Who's better in which aspect of the game?

have to see the playoff performance to judge

offensive garnett was more finesse and AD is more power

AD isn't even in his prime yet, or if he is it's only 5 games into his prime so it's obviously KG atm. I think he has what it takes to be better though.

:facepalm :facepalm
3rd yr KG was already a much better defender and passer/playmaker than AD is right now:no:

AD is better now than KG was in the first few years of his career. Hard to say whether AD can reach 2004 KG, we will have to see. I do think AD's ceiling is potentially higher.

AD is too undisciplined and relies on his length/athleticism too much
hes not even the best defender on his own team:lol :lol

it's a joke to compare a guy that gets almost all his buckets via putbacks, transition, and play-finishing (open jumpers and layups created for him by guards), to kevin garnett, a guy that could create his own shot, playmake for others, and whose skill set was in a completely different dimension of sophistication, which allowed garnett to have the entire offense run through him.

edit: whoops - i had accidentally deleted this post.

garnett is beta. playoffchoker, third best player 2008. non fmvp winner. even with stack team and leastern conference, no multiple chips.

so clearly AD over garnett

What I've seen so far of AD is better than rookie-02 Garnett.

It's not better than 03-07 Garnett. Garnett clearly has the advantage there.

why? garnetts so called "own shot creation" is way overrated. ADs postgame is brilliant. give him allen and pierce and rondo .....:wtf: more than 1 chip and this in wild wild west

if you don't give credit to the reality that davis benefits from floor-spacing, then you don't understand the game at a very high level at all.

you'll never be able to predict anything with any real consistency - you'll consistently be surprised by results.

You're either really stupid, or haven't been watching basketball for long (most likely both). Garnett had one year in his prime in Boston (the tail-end of his prime) and won the title. The next year he was injured and out for the Playoffs.

What year did the Celtics in the KG era disappoint/get upset in the Playoffs? They literally never lost a series they were supposed to win. They lost to the Kobe/Gasol Lakers in the Finals with KG on one knee, and the Lebron/Wade/Bosh Heat who were heavily favored over them. All of this with an over the hill KG.

Of course if you pair a 21 year old, up and coming Anthony Davis with Pierce and Allen, he's gonna have more success than pairing a 32 year old, injury prone Garnett with them in his 13th-18th year in the league.

How about 3rd year garnett vs current AD?
