Discuss, not my thoughts but interesting information

Kobe Bryant's 2014-2015 stats so far this season:

PPG: 27.6 RPG: 5.2 APG: 2.8 SPG: 1.6

Looking at these basic statistics, you would think he is doing GREAT, especially for coming off a huge injury. He is tied for first in PPG, which he is averaging two points more than his career average and is getting some decent rebounding numbers.

But once you start looking deeper, you realize that Kobe Bryant has been disappointing to say the least.

First things first let's talk about shooting, here are some statistics about Kobe's shooting:

Kobe is shooting 40% from the field (106th out of 123 players eligible in the NBA)

Kobe is shooting 30% from the three (83rd out of 100 players eligible, 27th out of 31 SG's)

Kobe is shooting 75% from the free throw (99th out of 139 players eligible)
Kobe Bryant averages 24.4 shots a game (4.2 more shots a game than ANYONE ELSE IN THE NBA, 6.7 more than any other SG)

Kobe Bryant has a usage rate of 38.8% (Meaning 38.8% of possessions he shoots or turns the ball over, also first in the NBA by a huge margin)
Kobe Bryant is 250th in True Shooting Percentage (out of 391), which is a stat that shows how valuable each shot is.

KOBE BRYANT IS THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE NBA WITH AS BAD OF FG%, 3P% AND FT%. You read that right, not a SINGLE NBA PLAYER (with the eligible number of shots) has that bad of shooting percentages.
...And this guy is leading the league in scoring.
Now let's look at some non-shooting statistics:

Kobe Bryant is 346th in Win Shares (out of 391), despite averaging over 34 minutes a game.

Kobe Bryant is 388th in Defensive Win Shares (out of 391) despite averaging over 34 minutes a game.

Kobe Bryant gets just 1 assist every 8.7 shots!

The Lakers are a horrific 0-5 and I think Kobe Bryant needs to start getting other teammates involved. I realize he has a pretty bad supporting cast, but the way he is playing it doesn't really matter. I could go on and on with metric statistics but you guys get the point.

The TL;DR version: Kobe has good numbers at first glance, but with further investigation, he literally is one of the worst (not exaggerating!!) players in the league
