The always concerned and humanitarian Marc Cuban just suggested that Oklahoma City should consider tanking to ensure a high lottery like San Antonio did when they got Tim Duncan due to David Robinson's injury.

His concern is deeply for others touching and moving.

That makes no sense. The team they currently have is championship caliber when healthy. Why hurt the development by losing on purpose or trade away the players that are actually going to be needed?

I don't think it is possible for Cuban to go a week without looking like a moron.

Does this clown really expect us to believe that this "advice" is out of a desire for what is best for OKC? The dude knows that the West is looking tough as hell (Sacramento, Utah, and the Pelicans are all much better this year). Mark Cuban is praying that KD and Russ don't come back early and will OKC to sneak in.

This is what Scott Brooks said about the quote:

Asked if maybe Cuban had an ulterior motive in wondering out loud about the Thunder tanking the season, Brooks said, "Ya think? There's a pretty good team north of him."

as long as they do end up making the playoffs....this is the best thing that could have ever happened to the Thunder.

Some young guys are going to get a years worth of NBA experience in the first 25 games of the season.

And the Thunder should have plenty of time post Christmas to get great chemistry by the all-star break and then make a nice playoff ready push.

They have the most loaded roster in the league and as long as they are healthy by April...this only makes them better.

Tanking would be a huge mistake.

Really after the top few picks it doesn't matter where you are in the lottery. If they can make the playoffs when their big guns get back, they shouldn't pass that up. If they don't make it, then any lottery pick is valuable compensation.

Omg imagine them with Okafor???

Basically a better version of Tim Duncan + an actual personality

If they actually end up trading for afflalo like espn is saying

Westbrook
Afflalo
Durant
Ibaka
Okafor

Wow.

The Thunder are a very good playoff team when they are healthy and I don't think any top seed will look forward to playing them because they are more than capable of beating anyone in the West in a series.

seriously? when Durant gets back they are a top 5 team. when Russell and Durant both get back they are a top 2 team. They will easily make the playoffs.

The Curse of the Sonics will never allow OKC to get the top pick.

Cuban knows he doesn't want to see OKC during playoff time. :lol That's so blatant.

Teams will be tanking to avoid OKC. Spurs will probably be middle of the pack - the ever injured Splitter and Mills plus championship hangover. Spurs and OKC just need to make the playoffs and be healthy. IMO, they can beat the other teams without home court.

He needs to worry about his own team. Dallas sucks right now and Parsons looks like garbage.

Imagine the #1 seed in the West gets to play a healthy OKC Thunder team.

And no team with OKC's talent should be tanking.

No there's not. OKC and Minny suck.

He scared to play a low seed ThunderEveryone is. Can you imagine this talented of a squad in the first round? Imagine a championship road of OKC -> LAC -> SA just to get to the finals  . OKC is probably going to be the only 8th seed in NBA history who isn't an "underdog" for a couple rounds.

There haven't been a rookie that impacted his team enough to turn it around since Lebron. And it took him at least 3 seasons to see the results.
