We know Lebron is gonna improve once he gets used to his new teammates and new system. I don't think the same can be said for Kobe. Lin won't be able to carry the Lakers every night, and as soon as he starts missing a few shots Kobe is going to go back to shooting the Lakers into more loses.

If lebron loses in the finals this year doesn't mean he'll be under 40 percent as well? :lol

Yeah because Kobe isn't playing with new teammates (who are considerably worse than Lebrons btw) and a new coach too

This topic is an example of "cherry picking" numbers to fit an agenda. These are the kinds of posts that disrupt this otherwise mature message board ("a mecca for intellectual discussion").

Yes, the OP has found one meaningless stat that those with a mathematical inclination MIGHT be able to pick apart to discredit Kobe "the self proclaimed Black Mamba" Bryant. But why do we have to go to such depths, of not with the intention of baiting? We have a widely recognized, verified measure of greatness right in front of us, the PER (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324201)

In Kobestan world, hurling a ball towards the basket IS scoring. So by that metric, Kobe >>>>>>>>>>>>> everything.

If you accept their side of this statistical dispute, all of a sudden everything makes sense and you can actually grasp that Kobe could be the best player ever.

Sadly, you don't get points when the shot carroms off the iron. But if you did... Oh Kobe...

As I mentioned before, his body will break down before it gets better. It's not skill that Kobe is missing, it's his body not doing what he wants it to do.

That's because Kobe hasn't been an impact player in quite some time. Ibaka brings value on D while Kobe is one of the worst defensive players in the NBA. I'd even take Ibaka on offense too. At least he isn't a ball-stopper like Kirby. No contender would want current Kobe on their squad - he's a cancerous chucker that's unable to adapt his game to fit any system besides the triangle. A blackhole that gives you nothing but empty stats - Jerry Stackhouse level impact.

When I saw Kobe go down with the Achilles tear it was one of the saddest moments of my life. Thought he was done and he would slowly fade into irrelevance. Ish made me realize that Kobe will never be forgotten, even now he's the only thing his haters can think about. They don't have LeBron or Brian windhorst (LeBron ******ger) avatars, no, its Kobe or Henry abbot avatars. These people are actually more interested in what the player they hate is doing than the player they love. Kobe wil always have rent free places to stay here. And Kobe will remain relevant a while longer and I couldn't be happier.
