I'm seeking outside opinions to resolve or add to a little debate between a friend of mine. Where abouts or how does the ish community believe the early 2000's Kings team stacks up against the competition in the West today? Where abouts do you have them seeded come playoff time?

Gracias...

Thanks for the advice Einstein. Next time I have a basketball related inquiry, I'll be sure to avoid the basketball related forum that I've been posting on for nearly a decade.

West is currently the most stacked of all time and that Kings team was assembled to compete on their time. That being said, I think the ball and men movement would still flourish in today's NBA. They would have to shoot more threes (maybe Webber shotting 3s?)
I would about 5th spot without injuries.

I loved those Kings teams so I might be a little biased, but I think they would be in the mix to win the current western conference, as far as record I'd think they finish 3-4. They were actually pretty deep teams, getting 10+ PPG from 7 different people, and had great passing big men with Divac, Weber and eventually Miller. Even had bench guys like Hedo and Gerald Wallace who didn't get to shine till they went elsewhere and got more minutes.

I think they'd be similar to teams like the Spurs and Grizz now, I think they would match up well against the Rockets and Clippers but struggle against the Warriors.

Make the Clippers look like a JV team.

They would be highly regarded. Having 2 bigs who can play in/out and pass like that is something that will set apart any team. Mix it in with shooters all over the place and a pg like Bibby puts them in elite category. And they were well coached. That's like a super-fecta

The West was stacked back in the early 2000's too. And the Kings held their own then. I don't see that changing today.

Probably top 3 imo

They were a scorching offense in probably the most defensive era of basketball. They would be top 3, a contender, probably at the least 58 wins. I would think 62 wins would be a good guess given no injuries.

They would be top 3 in the West

top1 or top 2, best duo of all time barely beat them

Thanks for getting back fellas. 1-3 is precisely where I have them stationed within this current pack.

Their ball movement and inside outside play can be very comparable and a cross between current Spurs and Grizzlies. Top 3 seed IMO.

They were very underrated defensively as well.

When Webber was healthy they were both a top 10 defense and offense.

They were more suited to play in today's nba than back then because of the rule changes.

That trio front court of Vlade, Webber, and Miller would give a myriad of today's teams and their respective coaches fits. They were a pure 'team' though in every sense of the word.

That was a fun team to watch. Everyone from 1-5 was a good to great passer and they had a bonafide superstar in Webber. They were like a younger, flashier version of the Spurs.

Great team - would be top 2 in the West now. Too bad they had Bibby at PG when everyone else was at the peak - if Jason Williams was at his spot, they would have at least one ring.

Why we talking about the 00 Kings, when we got the Gay Cousins Kings? We stacked, championship or bust this year :pimp:

When did they play against MJ and Pip? :coleman:

Top 3 no doubt. A title contender.

That Kings team that fell to Lakers in that infamous series was the best team to never win it that I had ever seen until last year's Spurs. And then they won it so... idk does that still count?

I'd love to see that. Webber would remind everyone how great he was and that Dirk isn't as great as some think.

Saw today that I actually got anonymously negged for this comment. Would have been better if he tried to disprove it atleast. Too bad that Ish is filled with these "types" nowadays.
