I agree, but I think there's too much subjectivity in whether the player did a double move or not, etc.

IMO if there's more than one dribble taken it is not an assist, period. One dribble or none, count it.

The ultimate best way to do it is the Euro/oldskool NBA way where the pass had to lead to a jumpshot, dunk, or layup - no dribbles at all. But they'll never do that.
