Joe Frazier who just defeated Muhammad Ali in the fight of the century or the Mike Tyson who destroyed Larry Holmes, and Michael Spinks.

Actually, Joe was past his prime in 1971 (blindness). But that is beside the point.

Tyson would have caught hell in the 70s. He'd win a tough decision over Frazier though.

Prime Tyson, when he was still preparing properly, was basically unbeatable. I'd put him against anyone.

This is one of my favorite hypotheticals because they're really pretty similar. Undersized, but compact balls of nonstop movement that were incredibly tough to hit, and got inside defenses and were able to do damage with short tight quick hooks and uppercuts. End of the day I believe Tyson just has a bit too much pop. Otherwise they're really comparible. It's one of the reasons I think prime Tyson would have a shot against most anyone. As he got older he didn't do well against bigger guys, and more and more bigger guys started hitting the scene. But he just wasn't the frenetic ball of energy when he got inside anymore. He was trying to end things with one or two punches then would clinch often because he was tired.

Fight would end with an accidental headbutt.

Hate to say it cuz tyson is my top 2 fave of all time .I think eddie futch would embed in joe's head to weather the early onslaught storm and then say after 6th round work that body with them heavy handed left hooks to further gas him out since tyson had stamina issues and test his will late in the fight as Frazier gets into rythym and head will eventually fall.

Joe only knew how to come forward and usually ate punches doing so. Bad fight plan against an accurate power puncher like Tyson. I see this one ending the same way Foreman/Frazier did.

He beat Marvin Frazier in 30 sec. So, like father like son.
