Wilt would throw Hakeem around like a ragdoll.

On the other hand, Hakeem's footwork and counters are too much for anyone to handle.

My answer? Whoever gets the ball first.

Sweet footwork. I love to see the current NBA Centers challenges the point guards who's making an easy dunk or layups.

Interesting story...

[QUOTE]During summer vacations Chamberlain worked as a bellhop in Kutsher's Hotel. Subsequently, owners Milton and Helen Kutsher kept up a lifelong friendship with Wilt, and according to their son Mark, "They were his second set of parents."[19] [B]Red Auerbach, the coach of the Boston Celtics, spotted the talented teenager at Kutscher's and had him play 1-on-1 against Kansas University standout and national champion, B. H. Born, elected the Most Valuable Player of the 1953 NCAA Finals. Chamberlain won 25

Agreed. Wilt has a big size and strength edge on Hakeem and is skilled enough to hold his own offensively despite what Hakeem is going to do offensively on his own.

Shaq and Kareem would have a chance. Anyone else would have to be really lucky...and now that I'm re-thinking it, Kareem should better shoot better than his usual 45% that he shot against Wilt, because this isn't what a younger Wilt would shoot against him 1 on 1.

Would Have Been Great To See. I Think Hakeem Would Not Be Stopped He Is Far Too Skilled But I Have No Doubt Wilt Would Outrebound and Outblock Hakeem.

Not sure, but Hakeem would have a better chance if winners took it out. He'd have to get hot on long jumpers though.

Shaq would have a better chance than any one, but I'd still favor Wilt. I see Shaq as the goat scorer at the center position, but he couldn't defend Wilt as well as well as Wilt could defend him. Shaq also relied on overpowering his defender to get into position for a dunk, layup, or baby hook, and I think he'd struggle against a stronger player than himself like Wilt. It would be similar to what we saw with Shaq and Yao.

Any guard trying to go 1 on 1 with Wilt would just be like old Kareem vs old Dr. J, except probably worse. No way any guard in history is strong enough to keep Wilt out of the deep paint, where he'd shoot 80+%. Wilt would have trouble staying in front of guys like Jordan or Kobe, but he'd at least be able to force them into 50-60% shots from time to time.

An early to mid-60's Wilt had a solid outside shot.

http://wiltfan.tripod.com/quotes.html

Carl Braun said] "He [Wilt] disorganizes you under the basket the same way [as Bill Russell, on defense]. With Wilt, of course, there's that offense on top of it, which is better than Russell's. He hit on all those jumpers."
"Yes, Wilt hit on those jumpers...Wilt did come into the league with a good touch from the outside, which made his early scoring that much more significant. He wasn't just dunking the ball then."

And we have some video footage of that...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCWrGWuU2Ak

We also know that if Wilt had played strict man-to-man defense, instead of manning the paint...he could hold down even the greatest scorers...

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wilt_Chamberlain

"When challenged, Wilt could do almost anything he wanted. In 1961 a new star named Walt Bellamy came into the league. Bellamy was 6-foot-11, and was scoring 30 points a game. First time they played against each other, they met at half court. Bellamy said, 'Hello, Mr. Chamberlain. I'm Walter Bellamy.' Chamberlain reached for Bellamy's hand and said, 'Hello, Walter. You won't get a shot off in the first half.' Wilt then blocked Bellamy's first nine shots. At the start of the second half Wilt said to Bellamy, 'Okay, Walter. Now you can play.'"

BTW, in that first H2H with Bellamy...Wilt outscored Bells, 52-14. It would be the first of MANY 50+ point games that Chamberlain leveled against the HOFer.
