Coming out next week.

The game looks pretty damn good from what I have seen and read so far. Even deeper and more complete than the first game and of course much higher polish than the disappointing second game.

Quick Look at the game: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-dragon-age-inquisition/2300-9695/ (small spoilers)

You can go to dragonagekeep.com to create an import file for the decisions you made in the previous series, or if you are a new player, to get a quick recap of the overall story of the first two games. Neat!

I'm tempted to get this given all the glowing reviews and the description of what kind of game it is. It gives me hope after how mediocre (to be kind) Dragon Age 2 was.

I wonder how my PC would handle this game though. It's getting up there in years and I was considering upgrade/buying next summer. I'll probably hold off and wait for a "Complete" version sometime down the road. Too many other games keeping me busy right now.

I've been a Mass Effect fan for years and I just started Dragon Age Origins this year. The combat takes some getting used to but I think I'll cop this when it comes out.

Still, I'm looking forward to ME4 when it drops (probably like early 2016)

I bought my system in July/2010 and the only change I've made was upping the RAM to 8 GB since then. Core i5 750 with a ATI 5850. So far, so good playing games on high levels but this next wave of games over the next couple months will stop that I think.

I'll probably wait a few days for reviews to come out, but right now, I think this will be the best game for winter. If all the other games I'm looking at disappoint or I don't want them, I'll have to wait until Christmas to get this.

Thanks, sounds like it's very good. I still much prefer listening to the community's reviews than critics though.

Got it ready to go on my ps4.

I'll give Dragon age another shot. Couldn't even finish DA2.

Dragon age 1 is in my top 10 RPGs.

Inquisition contains 80+ hours gameplay. I'm all about dumping hours in a single game.

Do I need to play Origins and II to understand this game? Don't say I should play Origins because it's a great game, do I need to play them for story purposes?

Good news: Dragon Age: Inquisition is pretty great. Less-good news: Being a story-heavy role-playing game, it relies heavily on a familiarity with the Dragon Age series' dense lore. Newcomers might be a bit lost at times.

I get the sense that a lot of people who missed the first two games are going to give this one a shot. As well they should! Skipping right to Inquisition is definitely doable, but in order to have the best time, you'll probably want to brush up on your lore up front. And that's what I'm here for.

I wouldn't be too concerened man. Its more of the lore which u can freshen up on a 10 min YouTube video.

The actual story of Inquisition is known to be lacking. You WONT be playing this game for the story sadly. Origins (DA1) had an amazing stor though.

You WILL be playing this game for the gameplay alone...which is preferred in the long run.

Why is every game taking gameplay over story nowadays? I'd prefer TLOU over a game like GTA V.

I've read that too. I'm hoping it has some interesting side stories though, in games like the elder scrolls series or the baldurs gate series even if I don't get in to the main story there's still a bunch of side stories that are fun and interesting.

as long as those things call themselves games, people will, surprisingly, care about the gameplay

anyway, heard that you should play the game with a controller, even on PC, as K+m optimalization sucks big time

also the newest Denuvo DRM will apparently really decrease the lifetme of your SSD if you are using one

Though I do agree that a strong story creates a more memorable and enjoyable game...it's the game play that keeps me around as a gamer.

The last of us has an amazing story but lets face it I only played the game for 2 weeks. Beat it, did some multiplayer and it's done. Got some amazing memories but if a game doesn't last me at least a month I tend to be disappointed in the game play.

Most of my top games I have ever played have a strong story backround.

I know I will still enjoy Inquisitons story, the voice acting alone is always well done by Bioware which is motivating.

Me personally, I am most excited about exploring all the areas and meeting the new companions. Plus the tons of side quests to be done.

Same. The amount of quests and side quests and things to collect/find is unbelievable and I'm barely into the main quest. The game is beautiful too, characters and faces aren't all that but the mountains, waterfalls, structures, etc. look great. This game is huge, I've found myself just exploring random buildings and looting all I can, I don't think I've found a door I can't open. Combat is very cool too, I love how easily accesible the overhead view is where you can set your plan of attack. Story is starting off slow and I only have my three starting companions so far, interested to see where it goes and meet new conpanions. I'm glad Varric's back, he was one of my favorite characters in DA2.

Played about 5-6 hours so far.

There is literally endless things to do in the game. The story is good so far and the characters and dialogue are great. If you import your custom background story from the Dragon Age Keep website you see all these little things that you did in the previous games show up and play part in Inquisition.

Graphics and gameplay are also great.

Bit overwhelming with their new crafting system and how you obtain upgrades for weapons and armor, but getting used to it now.

Everyone go buy this game, right ****ing now!

It's sick that you can play as a Qunari. I'm playing as a human warrior because that's how I did my first playthroughs of the first two games and I wanted a fairly consistent experience, but if I ever have the time for a second playthrough in this game, I will definitely choose a Qunari and have him be the most badass, take no shit type character.

LJJ

I'm playing as a human mage too. Looking forward to playing as the Knight Enchanter class.

So far I can tell how much work has been put into the game. You can immediately see what people have been talking about when they say you can put 90 hours in to this game easily. It's interesting to see how the new magic dynamics turn out. No healing magic in this game, but mana is unlimited. Anyway I love the way it looks and how they are adding big exploration this time.

The only gripes I can think of so far is that I've encountered a couple of bugs. Nothing game breaking at this point but a couple of crashes and a couple of times the interface has locked into a state where you can't do anything. Worrying.

That and I'm not crazy about any of the party members so far, although I haven't unlocked all of them yet. We'll see how that develops.

I re started as a rogue archer, enjoying it more than the mage and now I don't have the stupid staff animation that looks like I'm dancing. I'm about 15 hours in now and still feel like I've only just been introduced to the main story line. Great game so far, so much to do but presented in a way that is enjoyable and not a drain. I like that if I don't feel like going to a certain area i can just go to a whole different zone and still get the resources I need there to further the game.

Just finished the main story last night, I'm around 35 hours in and I didn't think I rushed through it. Was surprised when the last mission had a warning about it leading to the end of the story because so many were saying it takes 80 hours just for the main story line. I still have some side areas to finish off but one thing I've noticed is a lot of the side quests in this aren't as fleshed out as they have been in other games like mass effect, baldurs gate, skyrim etc. Rather than being like a self contained story that is intriguing in itself most of them seem to deal with the same kind of situations and are more one of or fetch quests which makes them feel a bit bland after awhile. The enemies also aren't as varied as those other games either, each zone felt like I was fighting the same 3-4 enemy types over and over with the occasional giant or dragon rarely thrown in. Still it was an enjoyable game and after I take a break to play some other games I've bought I'll come back and explore the other areas more.

65 hours in, nearing the final quest. And there's still so many side quests available, I've spent so much time at Skyhold running around talking to companions and gaining quests and such. Fun note, while you are at Skyhold, you can jump from practically as high as you want and not receive any damage, the worst your guy will do is lean on one knee and grunt for a sec. :oldlol: Makes for some funny Parkour type moments in a game where you wouldn't expect it.

I'm near the beginning and I have a question about quest tracking. Normally in the quest journal an active quest has a gold star next to it. What does it mean when I select a quest to make it active and a black star appears next to it? I don't see it show up on the map either. Too early for that quest?

Best weapon to use for a 2 handed DPS warrior? I want to go Maul or Axe predominately but not sure what would be more important, AoE (Axe) or Damage (Maul).
