I like Scott pulling Kobe when he did. Creates some opportunity for the other players and prevents him from trying to shoulder too much.

Let's see if he's still on when he checks back in.

Lin is bad period. The scrub had his two or three good games for the season and it is all downhill from here. Lin was made in MDA crazy ass offense.

Kobe never plays on the flow of the offense. It's always give me the ball and I'll play 1 on 5. No wonder he never went 50% FG his whole career. How can you like this guy? I seriously question his basketball IQ. What an ego maniac. :facepalm

Dude is chucking. He doesnt get to use injury or age as an excuse because his shot attempts dont reflect that.

Which is sad. Shot selection has never been his forte, but at least he was moving the ball and creating at times. This needs to change.

Averaging 30 or whatever a game while losing 60 games won't look good on his resume.

His resume as a top 10 player all time is set in stone. What he does when he's 37 years old coming off two major injuries has no negative impact on his legacy.

It's funny how people still think Kobe has something to prove.

I know a lot of the Kobe hate is trolling, but what do you want the guy to do? He could average 16/10apg/6rpg on 55%fg and the Lakers would still suck dick.

Might as well go down swinging.

He could shoot 0% for all I care if he gets us a W. Right now his team needs him to play smarter not harder. He won't win many games without trusting his teammates, mediocre as they are, and his body language says otherwise.

Where have I said he had anything to prove, or that this season might push him out of whatever position people rank him at?

The way he's playing right now, he's not helping his team improve. People can see that. And they're dead last with a 1-7 record. And people can see that too. Does that look good on any player's resume, let alone one of Kobe's stature?

How do you know they would suck? Why not give it a shot. It's simple logic. You have a known quantity and an unknown one.

The known is that the lakers can't win with Kobe chucking. Everyone else just stands around waiting for their turn. There's no ball movement. I can't remember the last time the ball swung around and someone had an open look because it gets to Kobe and stops. Guys catch and shoot because they don't know when they'll get it again. There's no teamwork.

So why not try and be more of a facilitator? Kobe takes some horrible shots. Cut those out and pass a bit more. I bet his average stays near the same while everyone else gets a bit more of the share.

But Kobes too stubborn for that. Thinks it's all up to him. Always wants to be the hero.

If they were in the east, I could understand this. However, this team isn't good enough to be in the playoffs, not when the conference is as stacked as it is.

The only reasonable goal for him right now is to move up on the all time scoring list. This team just isn't that good.

It's one thing to lose, another to look totally horrid. This Laker team isn't 1-7 bad. Kobe isn't thinking tank. Lakers are a proud franchise; there's a reason they've always rebuilt through trades and not draft picks: they don't accept mediocrity, that's just not who they are, not is it part of their heritage.

Kobe is a winner, and he wants to compete for wins the remainder of what's left of his illustrious career. The Lakers mindset is and has always been to win. You think either would be content to just give up and accept mediocrity 1/10 into the season?

I expect changes for the better, this season. Maybe not playoffs, maybe not even 35-45 wins I'd projected a while ago. But enough changes to make fans not loathe watching them night in and night out.

What sort of changes can they make? Anybody with half a brain took one look at that roster before the season and realized the Lakers were a 35 win team at best, and that was with a healthy Nash and Randle.

They simply don't have the talent to win many games. I commend Kobe for putting out 100% every night when a lot of other guys would probably pack it up, (looking at you Rose) but the talent simply isn't there. Jordan Hill ain't turning into Shaq, Byron Scott ain't turning into Phil, this team ain't winning 30 games.

sbw19

What sort of changes can they make?
Focus on ball movement, less iso ball on offense, and building chemistry and trust. No more here Kobe bail us out each and every night.

Figure out which rotation works best on D. Personally I'd bench Boozer and Lin and start Davis and Price.

Trade Nash prior to deadline for someone who can defend and protect the rim.

Limit Kobe's minutes to no more than 35. Can't afford to have him injured again.
