Can Anthony Davis win MVP this year if NO don't make the playoffs?

The dude is straight beasting this year, and has probably been the best player so far. But can he win the MVP if New Orleans don't make the playoffs, which will probably happen? Or if they make the 7-8 seed, can he win MVP from there?

Has anyone ever won MVP without their team making the post-season?

He won't be the MVP unless he gets to at least 55 wins. We all saw what happened with great individuals seasons but not many wins like Kobe 06 and Wade 09.

It all depends on if the media decides to reinvent their definition of MVP come the second half of December when the talks heat up. At that point, the writers will start solidifying the narrative they want to see happen and begin pushing it in bloc. It seems that everyone since Nash has been anointed by the end of the first trimester

So far I think only Curry and Howard can be considered alongside Davis.
