Why people pretend Melo has been this scorer who puts up numbers on lottery teams in mindblowing to me. He's been on competitive teams more times than he has lottery teams. Look at who's knocked him out of the playoffs. Spurs, L.A, Minnesota that year they went on a tear. He's had some ugly playoff performances but it's not like he's career loser. No worse than Aldridge for example.

Since when are the Spurs the standard too? They are the exception. Most teams win with 1 or 2 dominant players and a cast of great supporting players. Check the past.

Putting up points has always been crucial and always will be. Difference between being an All-Star or a guy that gets you to the playoffs like Melo and guys who are "legends" and win rings is what you bring along with that scoring.
