The Toronto Raptors weren't able to overcome another poor shooting performance from DeMar DeRozan and it cost them their perfect home record.

They hope DeRozan can get back on track Saturday night as they host the Utah Jazz.

The Raptors (7-2) are tied with Chicago for the East's best record after having a five-game winning streak snapped in Thursday's 100-93 loss to the Bulls. They shot a season-low 39.3 percent while failing to break 100 points for the first time as DeRozan was 3 of 17 for a season-low 10 points. He scored 16 on 4-of-15 shooting in Tuesday's win over Orlando.

Toronto had won its first five home games by an average of 14.8 points while allowing an average of 36.4 points in the paint. Chicago scored 50 in the paint.

The Raptors were also 15 of 21 from the free-throw line after averaging 26.2 makes on 31.4 attempts in their 5-0 home start. They were outscored 35-14 in the third quarter.

"That's a good experience for us," Jonas Valanciunas, who had eight points and eight rebounds, told the team's official website. "We're coming off the win streak so that's good, that's a cold shower for us. Make us regroup and be stronger next game."

DeRozan is shooting 38.6 percent in his last three meetings with Utah, though he hit all 21 free-throw attempts. He helped the Raptors sweep last season's series for the first time as they won two meetings by a combined 39 points after dropping 14 of the previous 15. Utah was 6 of 35 from 3-point range.

Kyle Lowry, who scored 20 Thursday, is averaging 9.0 points on 32.3 percent shooting in his last four games against the Jazz.

Utah (4-6) narrowly avoided a third straight loss Friday as Trey Burke buried a corner jumper at the buzzer for a 102-100 win at New York, overcoming a 46-point performance by Carmelo Anthony.

The Jazz's last three wins have come by a combined five points. Gordon Hayward -- who scored a season-high 33 -- hit a shot at the buzzer in a 102-100 win over Cleveland on Nov. 5.

"Trey is the guy that's been known for hitting big shots," coach Quin Snyder said of Burke, who had 13 points and nine assists. "I think he's one of those guys that gets excited when he gets the ball and Gordon's been like that, too."

Hayward was 11 of 18 after shooting 38.5 percent or worse in three of his previous four games. His 19.9 points per game and 49.6 field-goal percentage would both be career highs.

The Raptors are among the league's best with only 11.7 turnovers a game while Utah is forcing 11.9 per game.

Toronto's Tyler Hansbrough left in the fourth quarter Thursday with a sore back after a hard fall, though he's not listed on the injury report for Saturday. He scored a season-high 23 in a Nov. 9, 2013, win against the Jazz.

Utah is 0-2 on the second night of back-to-backs.

Toronto is sort of like a poor man's Memphis Grizzlies.

How? I don't see it at all, they have no inside game at either PF or C like Memphis and there backcourt is dynamite while Memphis is steady and solid. They play nothing alike and the Raptors are far more athletic at nearly every position and have much better floor spacing.

Should be a blowout with Utah coming off last nights game.

He will. He always destroys these shitty teams then struggles against any elite defense. Im terrified of what Tony Allen will do to him on Wednesday.....

Not sure if it's hesitation, or if it's just the slowest jump shot ever.

They've been great in the 4th. Just don't want Hans to be the first C off the bench against bigger C's.

I've been waiting to see the Raps run that lob play for Ross. They usually run it for DeMar.

Have I mentioned this year how much I hate the Patterson/Hansbrough combo? When those two are on, you are getting zero interior defense and not enough offense to compensate for that.

This should be a far easier game for the Raptors but I'll be happy with any win in the end.

Good bounce back games from DeRozan and Valanciunas. They needed it.

Really nice schedule to start the year for the Raptors. Some soft games, a huge home stand and a nice stretch of rest before a tough game vs Memphis. It's good that they are taking advantage of it.
