94 Rockets were really good that year. I think you mean 95 Rockets

Duncan was great, and the team was great defensively. However, Robinson was a role player at that point, Parker was just beginning his ascent and was not yet the player we know him to be today, and Ginobili showed little indication he would become so good.

They beat an atrocious NJ Nets team led by Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin 4-2.

Ginobili was the only above average offensive player other than Duncan. Maybe Speedy too in the Playoffs.

Parker was the worst championship second option in a long time. An inefficient shooter (39% in the Playoffs) who couldn't pass or defend.

Lakers won cuz of their size inside. Kobe was a complimentary piece. GOAT sidekick.

Worst/Weakest Champions since 1980:

1994 Rockets, 2003 Spurs, 2006 Heat, 2011 Mavericks

^ 3 GOAT carrying jobs and 1 GOAT finals carrying job + rigjob.

Worst/Weakest Finalists since 1980:

2000 Pacers, 2001 Sixers, 2002 Nets, 2007 Cavaliers, 2009 Magic

A bunch of teams with 1 superstar and the rest role players.

Check out the 2007 ECF Threads on ISH... Even back then people were saying LeBron is carrying garbage.

except that they had one of the most dominant postseason runs of all time.

Based on results, I'm not sure how anyone could argue that it isn't the '95 Rockets. They only went 47-35, trailed Utah 2-1 in the first round, trailed the Suns 3-1 in the conference semis, winning Game 7 by a single point, won the Conference Finals in 6 games, and even in their Finals sweep, needed arguably the biggest single game choke in league history to win Game 1

True they performed above their normal performance...doeant that say that they were actually weaker than their performance showed though?

Before the Playoffs I had the Lakers, Mavs and Kings over us. Thought we'd be crushed in round 2 like in previous years.

A Spurs/Kings early 2000s series would have been epic.

Yeah, I had SA as the fourth best team in the west. I didn't think they had enough offense to compete with LA, Sac , and Dallas.

Yeah, thankfully we generally had one or two guys who increased their offensive play in each series (Jackson in rd 1, Manu and Bowen in rd 2, Jackson and Kerr in rd 3, Robinson and Speedy in the Finals).

We caught a break when Dirk went down. Duncan's last 3 games that series were his weakest of the Playoffs. He had to average like 36/18/6 in the first 3 games with Dirk to pull out two Ws.

No because if you followed them that season, the were clearly the best team in the league when healthy. They were called the 'streak busters' because they went into everyone's building and beat the piss out of any team that was hot.

Check out their record. They dominated before the Butler injury and had a favorable record against all the elite teams (except Chicago for some reason)

That's wrong. Their record were also bad against Memphis and SAS.

They were a great team like any other champ but you gotta admit they overperformed a lot at the right time.

Not at all. Check the games when the team was healthy.

It's almost impossible to just suddenly get hot for the entire playoffs. Anyone who thinks they 'overperformed' or 'got lucky' is out of their mind.
