View Full Version : RIP to Jeremy Lin's career

He had a magical run.

Linsanity may be the greatest run/story by an athlete ever. Especially with social media he blew up quicker than anyone I've ever witnessed. The Knicks played amazing basketball with him and he made all his teammates play up to their full potential.

The mistake was leaving NY. He should have taken less money to stay in NY rather than go for $$ over NY.

IT ended up costing the Knicks AND Lin.

Houston broke him. A terrible disgusting trash filled organization. Kevin McHale could not be a worse coach. He completely destroyed Lin's confidence and any chance of him being seen positively after Linsanity. James Harden was too similar a player for Lin to ever shine in Houston.

Not to mention the selfishness of players like Parsons who was SOLELY trying to get his.

Lin is mentally weak. He's unselfish and kind hearted. This is not good in the NBA.

His strengths of driving to the basket, playmaking and shooting seem to have been neutralized and completely scouted against. The problem is Lin has major weaknesses elsewhere and hasn't seemed to work on making them any better.

I've never been more worried/realizing that Lin may not ever be a starter in the league after this season. It's sad.

Yup! If it's on a high shooting percentage.

But more often than not this year he's been looking really bad.

I thought it was cause of the Rox holding him back, but maybe it wasn't.

McHale's still trash tho

The only reason I'm surprised is b/c he played with Melo and Harden.

All 3 are ball hogs used to being the #1 on their team (well maybe not Harden)

Imo it's all mental with Lin. And he needs a jump shot.

Holy crap...c'mon. Lin will be fine. The entire team looks like crap. It's not like everyone else is playing great except Lin.

You ever play ball? Playing on a shitty team is contagious.

Maybe that's why he has a Havard Degree as a backup.

Now his richer by 20 mil, with a degree to boot and a cool story to tell his future kids of the "linsanity era". Not bad I would say, he's a success story. He's living my dream.

Lin as we know it is over.

OP, I feel your pain. He's a good guy and a good player, but he's mentally soft.

He did it to himself by leaving the Knicks. As if he wasn't going to make those extra millions through sponsors playing in a city like NYC. NYC was in love with him. He went to Houston to play for a coach that already cut him??? :hammerhead:

Had hope for him but now that I finally watched him play, its no surprise he's turnover prone. Not because of bad passes, but his handle is awful for a pointguard. He panics under pressure and gets stripped. Average backup PG is all he is.

At least he fooled the Rockets into giving him that bloated contract.

A few weeks of Linsanity and people were crowning him the next GOAT PG blah blah.

Lin made the Great Train Robbery look like child's play the way he robbed the Rockets. :lol

Do you have Down syndrome?

He averaged 13/5 in Houston while being paid $5 million a year ($8 mil cap hit).

Love people saying "lin robbed the Rockets" as if it wasn't their fault for giving such a big contract.

LOL a 3 year 25 million dollar contract is not overpaying for you? Considering his garbage play? What an idiot.

It's a bad contract, it's not a "robbery". There are many, many bad contracts in this league. Overpaying is not the same as a "robbery". If you'd said "Lin's contract is terrible and the Rockets overpaid" then there would be no issue but...

Amare Stoudemire? THAT's a robbery.

Gilbert Arenas? THAT's a robbery.

Steve Nash? THAT's a robbery.

Has everybody forgotten that NY decided not to match the Rockets offer to Lin? Why is everybody saying Lin left NY when its the Knicks that decided not to bring him back?
