The dump I took this morning has greater insight than Mcmenamin's "source".

This is such bullshit. What "league source" would Kobe tell that he's "going to shoot a bunch until he passes MJ and then he'll play team ball." It wouldn't f*cking happen. Just ESPN's way to keep the bullshit anti-Kobe agenda running.

I've no doubt Kobe wants to pass MJ on the all-time scoring list, but ESPN is really going HAM on Kobe.

We all knew passing MJ in points is all Kobe was concerned with, but to have Kobe publicly admit it, makes it even more hilarious.

why would ESPN have an anti-Kobe agenda?

Why would they have an agenda against anybody?

I dont buy it.

Kobe is shooting so much because he wants to win and doesnt accept that hes going about it the wrong way.

Kobe doesnt want anything more than a W. Not even his stats.

source?

This ESPN Cavs writer's anonymous "source" is his source that Kobe "publicly admitted" that he's shooting a lot just cause he wants to pass MJ.

This mess is all on the Lakers. What else were they expecting building around 36 year old SG with almost no other talent on the roster? I mean were people expecting playoffs? It's a shit team. At this point Kobe is a #3-4 guy at best. I don't even like Kobe, but I have no idea how the Lakers front office didn't see this coming. I agree that Kobe is part of the problem here, but that the Lakers were the ones that gave him contract. Was he supposed to turn the money down? Especially since even if he had taken a paycut, no star player would have wanted to play with him.

How do you know? :confusedshrug:

Let's not pretend he hasn't put own stats before team success before...2004 comes to mind.

oh the horror

The wording is funny too...

"League source SUGGESTED..."

So basically someone who won't be named tossed around an idea.

These "sources" ESPN writers keep throwing around are ridiculous. I'm wondering if they're just making this shit up now but covering their tabloid news style with the word "source" so no one is held accountable for their garbage writing as of late.
