That's what happens when the refs don't call everybody bullshit contact. Only 5 FTA's for Harden.

When Kobe did this you wrote your long bullshit paragraphs to make exsuses on how SOMEHOW this still wasn't a bad performance....

I don't like Harden either, but I wouldn't use stats to try to diss him. We're talking about a guy who hasn't even hit his stride yet, and he's averaging 26/7/7/2/1 on 39/90%. I guess you could make fun of his low FG%, until you realize he's leading the league in FT attempts at almost 11 per game.

When he isn't getting those calls against smart defensive teams, he's medicore.

James is a very good player who will continue/forever feel the wrath of naysayers until he brings it in the playoffs.

As I said in another thread...

Want to know how many players have averaged 25.5, 7.2, and 6.6?

6. Bird, Jordan, Robertson, Havlicek, Lebron combined for 14 such seasons.... and Harden this season.

He's also actually playing good defense too. Kobe plays no defense. My only fear is that he will revert back to old tendencies as the season goes on and his endurance fades. This was also the 3rd game in four nights for the Rockets. People are reading way too much into this loss.

Ok, we can play last season too.

Guess how many players have averaged 25.4, 6.1, 4.7...

It has been done 34 times by 10 different players.

People dont realize that while its fashionable to hate on Harden, the numbers he put up last season, and so far this season, are only put up once or twice a decade. In fact, since MJ did it in 91-92, only Wade and Lebron have put up those season averages in the last 24 years.

I simply posted stats.

If you wish to discredit Harden, do it somehow other than statistically.

And? He's nowhere near the same tier as MJ or Wade. Let him get out of the first round :oldlol: before you put him in the same sentence as those players.

25.4/6.1/4.7? Those are basically Kobe's career averages, nothing interesting to see there. Kobe at 34 put up 27/6/6 :confusedshrug:

It's easy. He was in prime position in OKC and left due to money and personal fame..so far it's backfired on him...stats are cute but without team success, it means nothing in the long run.

You could point to his Finals shitjob in 2012, him being disappointing in both 2013 and 2014 Playoffs...

No one's said he isn't a decent regular season player and that he couldn't put up good numbers, people are questioning the context behind those numbers and the fact that he hasn't been able to do it in the Playoffs on a consistent basis. I wish nothing but success for the guy and I think he's a great player when he's aggressive, but people are quick to crown a guy that hasn't proven to be a legitimate superstar in the Playoffs.

And that is why it's ridiculous when people counter my words with "but look at his regular season averages! :lebronamazed:", that Portland series really showed how little impact his numbers have. The two games his team won, he played like garbage (13-35 shooting, 3-11 from 3 in the first, 5-15 shooting in the 2nd, then in a close loss, he got the ball in the clutch near the basket, froze, then tried to draw a foul and bricked a horrible shot...that's not what guys like Kobe, Wade & Lebron do in big moments.

That's all that needs to be said. Without the bogus FT numbers, he's maybe on the level of current Joe Johnson. And this guy is somehow seen as the best SG in the NBA.

Consider what his FG% would be if he wasn't getting the crap calls, and half of those possessions were additional misses.

I do not understand people who do not comprehend true efficiency, and not the overhyped modern TS variety. Good old fashioned FG%.

When you take a shot, what percentage of the time does it go through the basket??

The answer to that question tells you so many more things about a player than the so-called advanced shooting metrics that only measure conversion rate in a vacuum.

A team with James Harden as their leading scorer is never going to win shit. So no one cares if the Rockets are 9-2 or not.

At least Harden can stay healthy enough to play. Paint your face, clown.
