View Full Version : Hypothetical: Kyrie for Dragic straight up, will Cavs 3-peat?

It's pretty much agreed that Dragic > Kyrie both on the offensive and (especially) the defensive end.

Will this trade work? The Suns get to add to their Thomas/Bledsoe ballhogs collection and Cavs could contend the right way.

wow. that would be a dream come true for you right?

Dragic and Lebron in one team.

then you wouldn't be so torn over two teams.

I don't thin that it helps Cleveland much. A more pass first point would help them more. I like Dragic but he's played poorly this year and he looks for his shot too much. He had a decent game last night but he played much better last year. With him you would just get a guard who played a little better D, could pass a little better and can score worse. I don't see how that helps them. I don't like Irving at all and I like Dragic but this wouldn't really be good for either team. It wouldn't be bad, it would be more of a lateral move.

Dragic is a top 3 PG and arguably the best defensive PG right now in the league.

He'll be a HUGE upgrade over ballhog Kyrie.

The Cavs should trade Kyrie, Waiters, and Tristan + a bunch of picks for Conley, Gasol, and Allen.

Wait... if lebron passes to kyrie in the 4th and he takes the shot he's considered a ball hog?

Kyrie hasn't been a ballhog since their straight losses. Lebron's "lesson" seems to have sunk in on him. i like Kyrie more than Dragic. better shooter and more upside on defense. Cavs just need a better defensive coach tbh. they need a better assistant coach, not this moron Tyron Lue.

Who is gonna clutch out the 4th quarter though for the Cavs? LeDefer needs Kyries security blanket. Dragic is a nice player, but he doesn't have the alpha gene that Kyrie has. As much as a defensive liability and shotjacking style he has, he can close out games, that is FACT.

So far this season:

Time of possession:

Kyrie: 6.2 mpg as a point guard
LeBron: 5.6 mpg as a small forward

Assist/turnover ratio:

Kyrie: 3.00
LeBron: 1.69

Turnovers per game:

Kyrie: 1.8
LeBron: 3.9

Based on what? I'm a fan but im not convinced he's "top 3" or "arguably the best defensive PG". He's kinda sucked this season.

I'm not sure why people keep saying this but he's been playing extremely well after a slow first 3-4 games.

So OP calls Kyrie the scrub a ballhog, you then post stats showing he does indeed have the ball in his hands more than the best player on the planet... :coleman:

shouldn't point guards be the primary ball handler anyway? And we all know Kyrie has way better handles than Lebron anyway. On top of that he takes care of the ball way better than Lebron even with more time.

Kyrie's attitude, shot selection, and selfishness with the ball bothers me. Along with his total lack of interest in playing defense ... but the Cavs will absolutely need his ability to create at will off the dribble in the half court come playoff time. It's still the most valuable asset in basketball. No one should tell you different.
