Pierce said today on The Dan Patrick show:

"I probably wouldn't have been drafted in today's NBA"

He noted that as hyped as this last NBA draft class was Pierce hasn

Gotta disagree with Pierce here. When young he was actually a better athlete than Jabari Parker.

I agree with the premise there, athleticism side gets overblown too much when "judging" players nowadays, overrating some because of it.

If the draft Pierce was in was today, he'd get drafted after Ricky Davis and Cuttino Mobley... Shit, if the 1979 draft took place today, Magic would probably get drafted after Dave Greenwood, Sidney Moncrief or Edgar Jones; and in 1978 Bird would get drafted after Terry Tyler, Wayne Cooper, Mo Cheeks and Michael Cooper...
:lol jk (or maybe not)

That wasn't the point he was trying to make.

Could someday come down to "3pt specialists" getting drafted earlier and earlier than so-called "athlete's!?!?"

Is Paul just aging into one of those guys who's like "things were better back then" kind of guys?

It wasn't his main point but I felt like pointing it out.

Moronic comments. Plenty of athletes drop if they can't play. Wiggins scored 17 ppg and played studly defense for a top program. Its not like he's just some raw numbers on a paper. Parker is incredibly similar to Pierce coming out, except maybe slightly less athletic. What a dumbass Pierce can be.
