A dad in the United Kingdom had a bittersweet birthday surprise for his Spider-Man-loving son. Mike Wilson's little boy, Jayden, recently turned 5 years old. But sadly, Jayden has been diagnosed with a stage IV brain stem tumor and has been given just a year to live. So, to make number five a very special birthday, his dad had a replica Spider-Man suit made with the secret plan to delight Jayden.

Alright see this is what's fcked up about the world we live in

Why you gotta show us your attempt to cheer up your dying kid? Why is it any of our business? Why does this guy need to show off to the world his kid is dying and this is his act of kindness in turn?

This should be something shown to family and close people in your life, people that know you and your unfortunate son. Why post it on YouTube for anyone and everyone to see? Donations? If someone in my family dies it means I can ask people for money? ***if someone in my family dies it means I can ask -strangers- for money?

The world we live in is fueled by insecurity and a constant need for attention.

Seriously, dude's only doing this to get attention....I HATE this new generation of attention whores, using your dying son to make a viral video...

Disgusted at people who are desperate to do these things. The only people seeing him do that should be his family, not random people on the internet that use the video to troll in the comment section.

I dislike attention whoring, but this is a genuinely sweet video. the type of attention whores i hate are the ones who post pics of themselves on vacation on their facebook pages mongering for likes & 'that's so cool' comments. or the numerous sluts posting pics on instagram with barely any clothes on.
videos like this are sweet & should be seen by the world. it shows us a small pleasant moment in an otherwise fcked up world.

The world we live in is fueled by insecurity and a constant need for attention.I think it's tough to say what this man's motivation may have been without knowing him and talking to him firsthand. The negative take may be to assume that it's a form of intentional attention whoring from a man looking to capitalize off of his ill son.

The positive take may be that he concocted a plan to imitate Spiderman for his sick child, then deduced that it'd be worth recording if it worked out. It'd be a great thing to have on tape for any father and child - perhaps even greater when a child's lifespan is knowingly reaching its endpoint.

He owned a GoPro, he seems to have a gymnast background, and the result of his stunt for his son is very appealing to many. The fact that so many were able to derive joy or powerful human emotion from a silly stunt for his son may positively contribute to one of the last remaining memories his family may have of their dying child. It kind of seems like it could be a good share all around.
