He's coming off the books after this season, why not keep him? It's not like they wouldn't have been able to afford his salary...dude is putting up 12 & 10 on 70% shooting in Dallas, so far playing the best ball of his career :confusedshrug:
He might not be worth 15 mil, but the Knicks would have been better with him this season.
It's more to do with the inept FO & coaching staff last season. Phil might end up being a good GM and a good president, but this move to me is questionable, when the team doesn't have a draft pick. I'd understand if they had a pick worth tanking for..

Defensive Efficiency
Dallas 13 compared to 22 last year
NY 27 / 24
Tyson's impact did this, he plays like a top 10 Center this year. :applause:
They've always sucked when they don't have a PG. Calderon should help them get on the right track.
Last season: only Felton
54 win season: Felton and Kidd
2012: shitty start, then Linsanity happened

Not really a surprise to anyone.
Even the Magic have a better record.

They're missing Calderon. He's their second best player so I won't judge before he gets back. Although I can tell that so far isn't looking good.
Their best run was with MDA and LINsanity :wtf:

At least they have a draft pick this year. Who knows. Maybe the league rewards Jackson and gives him the 1st pick

Jackson can coach, but he can't manage for shit. how can a coach as accomplished as him believe that re-signing Melo would lead to winning?
and then he gets a moron coach in Fisher.
those aren't signs of a good GM.

The resigning of Melo was just about as disastrous a move as you could make. Even if they were running the triangle well, they still aren't going to be competitive. They need to get bad and get some picks together and just suck for a while. They are so far away from being a championship contender it's not even funny. Even if they were playing their best, they are light years behind the best teams in the east. This franchise has bee mismanaged for years and the new regime seems to be no different.

I can promise you that they will not win a thing until they dump Carmelo Anthony. You can't win with that guy. New York is that city that is all about show. Anthony puts on a show and they love that. He's like a radioactive diamond. Great to look at but gonna give you cancer if you hold onto for too long.
You think anyone wants to play hard when Carmelo Anthony is getting all the shots. This is a team sport. Teams play harder when everyone is involved and has a steak in the team. He's starving the rest of the team of shots. He has killed all team morale.

I didn't think it was impossible. Relative to this franchise's last decade and a half, last year was a huge success.

Like flies to turds, yall are happy to jump on the Knicks when they are down. This team is way better than their record shows, Melo is having an MVP caliber season. I will bump when they are above .500. Which will be soon. And you haters will be gone like ISH was a ghosttown.

Uh... By your standard you just suggested here, is Kobe having a MVP caliber season too?
