View Full Version : Eric Bledsoe: Kentucky would "definitely" beat Sixers

Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe has the utmost confidence in his alma mater. Or he has absolutely no respect for the Philadelphia 76ers. One of the two.

Appearing on Sirius XM NBA radio, he was asked who would win in a series between what might be the best team in college basketball and what is absolutely the worst team in the NBA,

"I'll definitely take Kentucky," Bledsoe said. "I think Philly would probably get maybe one game."

That's when Malik Rose told Bledsoe that people in Philadelphia wouldn't be too pleased with him.

"I know they're going to be mad, but I love my Wildcats," Bledsoe said

Quick reminder: Kentucky head coach John Calipari said that his team would be buried by any NBA club. This discussion is great for talk radio, but we really shouldn't waste time taking it seriously. The Wildcats are awesome, and it's possible that they have more future NBA star power than the Sixers do. It takes a while to develop talent, though, and to learn how to play at the next level. You couldn't just throw this Kentucky team into an NBA setting and expect anything but a disaster.

Lol KJ McDaniels averaged 17/7 & 3 blocks last year in college and doesn't even start on the Sixers. Kentucky would get destroyed.

Suns Eric Bledsoe says he was tipped off before the game by a Sixer that Noel's hard foul was coming.

They were telling me before if I came to the paint, they were going to do something dirty.

i think vegas handicapped this game and sixers were favored by like 14 or 16 pts.

I gained a lot of respect for Noel. Finally a player who didn't talk or bitch he just put Bledsoe on his ass the first chance he could and then went back to playing basketball

all the angles i've seen, have been terrible.

eh, just seen a decent angle, wasn't that bad.

It was good for the morale of both teams. Noel actually played for Kentucky aswell. Bledsoe was tipped off before the game and on the suns first possession he purposely drove straight into the paint to see what would happen.

It would be interesting. Basketball is one of the team sports where one or two exceptional players could make a difference.

A couple of the great UCLA teams of the 60's and 70's likely would have given a poor NBA team a run. I think the 72-73 Bruins team might well have beaten the 9-73 Sixers that season.

The '69 Bruins had Wicks, Rowe, and Alcindor (Kareem) up front.

The '74 Bruins had an awesome front court. David Meyers, Marques Johnson, Richard Washington, Keith Wilkes (Jamaal), and Bill Walton.

You could make a case for the '82 Tar Heels... Worthy, Perkins, and MJ.

The problem would be the depth. After players 1-3 or 1-4, those college teams would get killed.

giving the kind of effort with the kind of lineups theyre putting out right now

yes kentucky would beat them

but thats not how the sixers would play

its like when euro clubs beat nba teams in the pre season. we all know the nba teams are going half a*ssed. almost tanking due to minute restrictions and playing bums

while the euro clubs are playing like its the nba championship

so if the 76ers were in a battle for bragging rights/self respect... theyed go 100% and forget about tanking for one day. theyed play the best game of their lives

sixers would win by 20

lol, 75% of that Kentucky roster will either be playing basketball in Singapore or some shit like that or have regular jobs and quit basketball once their time in college is over.

I doubt that.

You realize virtually everyone in the NBA was a college/overseas star, right? Everyone from the starting 5 to the 12th man.

The same cannot be said for the current UK basketball players and probably half of them will not be playing in the NBA 4 years from now.

lol @ you thinking Tony Wroten, Hollis Thompson, Henry Sims, Brandon Davies, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, KJ Daniels, Alexy Shved were all "stars".. these nikkas were all second round picks or undrafted free agents and most of them are starters on the Sixers. Nerlens Noel was the only college star that plays for the sixers and he tore his ACL. Don't mention MCW he averaged 12 points his sophomore year at .393% and 7 assists playing 36 minutes a game.

do you realize how bad this Sixers team is? I don't think you do. maybe they were stars in high school but not at any higher level than that.

Smh.

brandon Davies, drew Gooden, Robert Covington and Hollis Thompson. And rookie J.Grant has been injured but I'll toss him to you to support your weak argument.

So 5 guys probably shouldn't be on any NBA roster. Now if you have a real discussion hollis and Davies could probably land on a 12 man roster. Meaning end of the bench 11-12 guys. I can go around the NBA and point out rosters where end of the bench guys are no better than the players I listed. What exactly is the Phx Suns Len and TJ Warren doing? But you would probably argued they belong on NBA rosters tho.

So anyway I showed you that over half the sixers team do belong.

Anyone who thinks kentucky steals a game vs the sixers let alone beat them in a 7gm series is delusional.

Back-to-back OT wins against merely good college teams.

And just how in the hell did they win this last one?

Kentucky won't score in the paint against an NBA team and their best outside shooter is shooting under 30% at college three point line this season. You guys forget too easily that Nerlens Noel was a much better scorer at college level than both Karl Towns and Willie Cauley Stein. Kentucky would put up a good fight on a good day but I'm still taking any NBA team over NCAA team.

Really in most cases, no college team could ever beat an NBA team... but since this 76er squad is a loser by design and the whole organization knows it, it's hard to even call it an NBA team.
