This is what the NBA is missing. We need more guys like the Mamba to just be competitive and keep going. I am glad he didn't stop at 17 shots tonight. Glad Kobe willed the team to a win.

Doesn't bother me as much for two reasons:
1) Still early in the season (and Nick Young, while not a savior, is another guy who can create shots for himself at least). Besides, the two games prior to tonight weren't abysmal. His shot selection has been adventurous even for him.
2) The tank is on, losing is good. Winning is a bonus.
What does bother me though is people celebrating his poor performances by his standards, and claiming his efficiency doesn't matter. Newsflash: Kobe in his prime was EXTREMELY efficient as a scorer (TS%), while taking some of the most difficult shots in the league.
I don't want this Kobe to be the one people remember. Ballsy yes, but not to be confused with peak or prime Kobe in the slightest. That player was a monster.

Real talk dude...dude's a legend, he deserves to go out better than this, in a dead end situation with a bad team.
It's fun watching his footwork and craftiness at this point, I'll give you that, but it's insane to have people generalizing about/attacking Kobe's career because of how different he looks now. That's all I'm saying my dude.

why be bothered by invalid criticisms? this season Kobe's like a terrible caricature of himself, certainly, but it's still more fun to watch than 90% of the players in the league.
Everything Kobe is doing after the achilles injury to me can only contribute to his legacy and not hurt it because it's just extra credit at this point

Oh don't get me wrong, doesn't affect how I view his legacy at all. Just sucks seeing guys go out the way they did (Fat Magic, journeymen Shaq, Wizards MJ, Raptors Hakeem, etc.).
Kobe's game is one that ages well, and the fact that he's fighting the injury is remarkable. But I just don't like when people blur the line between this Kobe and him in his prime. That's all I'm saying. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, idk man.

yea i get what you mean
2 games ago i actually thought he had a really cringeworthy and embarrassing game where he was just hoisting it up from anywhere without even trying to get open but his play has been much more purposeful these last two games with nick young back

Exactly this. He's just living up to all the old narratives ("inefficient", hero ball, etc) and it's a shame because he was far, far more than this in his prime. It just sucks that he's going out like this.

real talk...
You can't say sh!t about Basketball...I repeat...Don't sit and spew talk about efficiency or advanced Math...
Unless you post a video of you shooting the Rock in the " 100 shot challenge thread"......you can't C em.
recap: you trying to talk about Bean or Basketball efficiency without you showing anyone yer skill is pointless.....It's like taking swimming lessons from someone who never been in water.
all you haters need to shut yer Wolf pleaserz......and prove you know Hoop...
